Recalls and you.

Friday, April 27th, 2007

When I first heard about the dog food recall, I have to say that I frantically looked up everything I could find because I was scared into thinking that Bella had eaten the tainted food. I searched all over the ‘net before I could find any real answers to what was going on. While she doesn’t eat wet-food that often, after I moved down here I did stock up on it, this was back in January. So you could only imagine what was going on in my head when I found out that the “chunks and gravy” kind of food that was produced between December 3, 2006 and March 6, 2007 was recalled.

It took me three years before I could find dog food that Bella would actually eat. I think I’ve gone through every single brand of food I could find for her. She’s a very picky eater, so it made it very difficult for me. She’s been through Mighty Dog, Alpo, Science Diet, Eukanuba, Iams and many more. When I found out that each of these products had been recalled, my heart literally skipped a beat. I was lucky enough to not have fed her the Mighty Dog that I stocked up on. She’s been eating table food for quite some time now and after coming across recopies for home-made dog food back in February, that’s the route I’ve taken ever since.

It saddened me to hear that 16 deaths occurred in direct connection to the tainted food. There were also an estimated 5,000-10,000 pets who may also be affected by it. My question is, who’s paying for this? Why should the consumer have to cover vet bills when it was the fault of the company who produced it. Based on an article found on this dog food recall guide, Menu Foods (the company who started this) will take full responsibility and you will be compensated for it. The vet won’t send the bills to them, you still have to keep a copy of all of your vet records and receipts for pet food purchases as well as your vet bills. So basically, Menu Foods is treating this as sort of a mail-in rebate for your dog. I say have the vet send the bill directly to them, but hey – that’s just me.

There is a 133 page PDF file containing ALL dog food that was recalled, 133 PAGES. You never realize how many people are effected by products until you think of the mass production behind things. Right now you’re probably sipping the same drink that 3,000 other people in the US alone are drinking along with you. With numbers like that, especially with animals, it’s pretty scary. I’m glad that Bella wasn’t effected by this, but am truly sorry to everyone who was for such a horrible mistake.

Bloggers Choice Awards

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

Bloggers Choice Awards Some of you may or may not be aware of the bloggers choice awards. I’m listed for: Best Blog Design, Best Geek Blog, Best Gossip Blog and Most Obnoxious Blogger. Anyone who’s known me for a while knows that I pretty much fit into at least one of those categories, based on how you know me I’m sure you can make that choice for yourself. If you’re at all interested in helping me to win, register for bloggerschoiceawards.com and vote for me.

BCAAfter doing a sweep of the design nominees, I have to say that I’m a bit….ehh….about it. At least 80% of the websites listed in the Best Blog Design category have either pre-made templates or default templates that can easily be found by the initial activation of WordPress or even a Blogger.com account. There are very few templates in there that are actually MADE by the owners of the websites so if you want to keep real designers on top, make it a point to vote in this section. I’d prefer if you voted for me but if you happen to come across a better weblog template then I won’t be TOO offended.

So if you’re interested in voting, sign up today. It’s free, and no this isn’t a sponsored post…I just like winning things 🙂

Charcoal

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

So it’s a few hours after sun-down so it’s beginning to grow a bit cooler here in Delmarva. The wind has picked up a little bit so it’s actually a lot more livable now than it was this afternoon. Dinner turned out a tad-bit burnt but that’s OK because I understand why. Baby got distracted with other things and completely forgot about flipping the burgers. It was pretty interesting to have a half charcoal half pink burger, but I still love him. I enjoyed my hot dogs more anyway, to be honest.

The dishwasher is running and now I’m just sitting here going through some things. I spent some time surfing around the ‘net looking for new and interesting things to keep me entertained but I haven’t really come up with anything other than a new program and a headache from finding a very gaudy website that was obviously designed by someone who was color blind. I don’t mind if you’re using a yellow and red combination but it really depends on the TONE of the colors you’re using. A bright neon yellow background plus the typical #FF000 hex code really does NOTHING for anyone. Try looking less like a hot-dog cart and more like a website.. :ugh:

I have some comments to catch up on, I think I’ll get my butt in gear with those now.

Maybe sex DOES sell?

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

According to the 200+ messages that’s spammed my Inbox for the past couple of hours, I seriously need to consider purchasing Viagra. Based completely on the fact that I don’t have the right parts for Viagra to work, I took the “purchase” end of the deal and now I’m surfing the net for interesting products to keep me happy.

I’m in the process of ordering a new graphics card, I may even buy Bella a new bed. I’m also considering loading up on new towels for the bathroom because Baby insists on using black towels and there are little black lint balls all over the house (white rug, easy to see).

Long Layer, Hair cut.I dyed my hair today because the gray was just shining through and really pissing me off. It didn’t cover the gray as much as I would have liked it to but at least my roots match the rest of my hair again. I’m searching high and low for a stylist because I’m in desperate need of a hair-cut. Since the last tragedy with my hair is now growing out, I’m confident that in the right hands I can get my hair back to where I wanted it to be. I want nice long layers with a touch of highlights. It’s how I’ve had my hair for years and I know, for sure, that there’s got to be ONE person in this entire freaking state that can give my exactly what I’m looking for (image to the left).

So now I’m off to finish my shopping and then I’m going to bother the boyfriend to figure out what he wants to do for dinner tonight. Neither one of us ate today (too busy with other things) so it’d be nice to sit down with him for a little while without having to concern ourselves with work.

Sorry…can’t comment here.

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

I was a little backed up on my comment emails and figured I’d get a start on those tonight. I managed to get through the last months worth of emails, rather quickly. There’s valid reason behind this though, PEOPLE ANNOY ME.

I came across one blog that wasn’t even worth attempting to read. The font was microscopic, they – very obviously – only coded the site for MSIE and they really enjoyed using “Lyke…WOAH!” every three-four statements.

A few people haven’t updated since early November, one was pushing on 10 months (to the date). I thought the point of running comment sites was to help ACTIVE BLOGGERS find other ACTIVE BLOGGERS for some serious PR help. What’s the point if you aren’t even going to maintain it?

Despair is down, Exentrique has quite a few dead-links so that didn’t go over well, and xposure isn’t even worth the effort anymore. I’m seriously considering writing my own comment site and having at least 10 staff members to check links on a weekly basis.
[/end rant]

Creative FUNK

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

Don’t you hate when things look better in your mind than they do in print? The template I’ve designed for my May theme came out exactly how I pictured it in my head. The problem is – it looks like crap. I think I may fix the logo up and just use it as a freebie or something because there’s really no point in using it for myself. I should probably do that with all of the templates I have saved on my hard drives. I could probably give 200 people unique templates at the rate that I scratch ideas.

I had a pretty busy day. I woke up to Baby asking me if I could throw a turkey in the oven for tonight, it’s been defrosting since last night. The problem is I got the bright idea to turn it into some big deal and basically made a thanksgiving dinner. I had all the fixin’s but since I go overboard on everything, it was overwhelming. Dinner went off without a hitch, or so I thought. Throughout the entire meal I had the itching feeling that I had forgotten something. It wasn’t until 4 hours later when I went to heat up some turkey for Bella that I realized the stuffing was just sitting there uncooked. So…at least I had some validation as to what I was missing. It sucks that I completely forgot about it but we were stuffed beyond belief anyway so I guess it didn’t matter too much. The extra carbohydrates probably would have put us over the edge anyway.

We went to the beach last night, I got to relax a bit even though it was drizzling. It felt like it was raining harder because of the wind but that didn’t matter too much. We decided not to go tonight because we both have a lot of work to do and we’re just too tired to travel considering the turkey and lack of sleep. It would help us with our concentration and since the rain has finished up it would make more sense to go than it did last night but that really doesn’t matter too much to us at the moment. It’s my goal to get some major sleep tonight and since it’s after 12:30, I guess that will be very soon.

For now I’m going to finish what I was doing and maybe get a few posts in or something, I’ll figure it out when it happens. I have to do some interview for <a href=”http://www.pjmommy.com/” target=”_blank” title=”PJMommy.com”>Jenny</a> and then I was selected for some Blog Celebrity thing so I guess I’ll see what that’s about. Who knows, maybe it’ll be something fun – heh.

FREE online dating??

Friday, April 6th, 2007

A few nights ago, Baby and I were walking the dog and got into a conversation about all of the Internet Dating websites who have commercials. One of them says if you can’t find anyone in six months, you get the next six months free. Based on what I know of the site it’s a $40 a month service so after six months you’ve spent over $240 with this company. Why not just demand a refund? Their ‘six month guarantee’ is completely worthless if you haven’t found someone while you were PAYING for their services.

We started wondering if there were any free dating sites out there, of course the first that came to mind was a very popular social network site but we knew that wasn’t the same. He even thought about programming one himself just so that people can, for free, actually find someone the way many people have in the past. You don’t have to spend any money to pick someone up in a supermarket or a bar, why should you have to pay just to use a website when there are hundreds of thousands of sites out there that are for free usage no matter what the context.

While doing my usual surf around the internet I came across a site called – justsayhi.com. This is a new online dating site that really is 100% free. No credit card is ever required and the features of the site are just as good as any paid dating site out there.

While I’ve already found the man who makes me happy, I do believe that anyone looking for companionship that costs them absolutely nothing, should consider creating an account with justsayhi.com. They believed a REAL good free dating site needed to exist, that’s exactly why they built it.

Ughness

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

I just finished up all of my commenting for the night and I have to say, if I come across one more site that insists using the smallest font in the world is the way to go – I’m going to scream. I hate having to increase the font size when I go to a site, thankfully no matter WHAT your style sheet reads, Mozilla will automatically increase it for me. MSIE doesn’t have that option and I’m happy to announce that half the sites I visited didn’t work in Mozilla anyway so thank god for horribly bad coding, now I don’t have to comment on it.

I never, EVER created templates around a 9px Georgia font, I don’t understand HOW you people can seriously believe that’s the best font to use. The absolute smallest anyone should go is 11px and even that can be hard on old eyes. A lot of the comment sites out there have users in all age ranges, and that’s perfectly fine, but if you’re going to be submitting your site to a directory for not only hits but BLOG COMMENTS at least freaking make it READABLE or guaranteed no one’s coming back to it. If anyone does it’s probably your BFF that’s sitting right next to you in all of your classes. What could he/she possibly have to comment about when she can just tell you something to your face? Come on people; get a clue!
[/end rant]

I know I said about two hours ago that I was heading to bed but after sitting here for as long as I have, I’m kind of having trouble falling asleep. The boyfriend is snoring his head off, rolling all over the place too. He almost flung me, my laptop AND Bella off the bed in one quick jolt. I don’t know what he dreams about but damn…violent much?

I guess it’s time to bring Bella to pee and then get myself ready for bed. I’m too agitated to really do anything else right now. I guess that sugar crash has completely subsided and now I’m just moody…woe to the bipolar me!

Comment…where?

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Has anyone else noticed that Xposure has kind of…died? Every site I’m sent is either “Not Found” or “Closed”. What happened to people keeping their accounts up to date? I’m sure if the owner did a database run-through, half the members would be removed.

I’m not behind on commenting, though some may think I am. I haven’t gotten any emails from Despair for some reason and I know that Exentrique is fine because I’ve been commenting. I just haven’t been logging in to do my usual voting after I comment.

I don’t know…it’s just strange that there was a rise in comment sites and now they’re slowly beginning to disappear.

Sunday came and went…

Sunday, October 8th, 2006

It’s been a pretty uneventful day. I’ve been lounging around with a book and writing up some scholarship essays here and there. I’m working on a new template for acidgloss.net that’s a little bit more graphically advanced. I also need to setup an official ‘database’ for template previews because I’m not really happy with how things are setup now. I have a few pre-made that I need to add to the database anyway, so I’ll be working on that over the course of the next few weeks.

I’m going to be doing quite a bit of editing to the acidgloss.net content too. I’ve been doing some tutoring lately so I’m going to add that to my list of services. I give out coding help all day long for free, so may as well see how far I can go by charging people. I’m not going to be crazy with the pricing though; $5 an hour is pretty reasonable I say.

I’m taking my vacation next week, so that should be fun. I’ll have my laptop with me though so on the down-days I’m sure I’ll be online getting things done. I’ve let Tony know that I’ll be away so if I can’t get into the hosting things he’s going to have to pick up the slack. I doubt he’ll do it considering his inability to commit to things he’s being paid for, but whatever. I’m coming back on the 22nd so I’ll be home for my birthday. The following Sunday (29th) I’m going to the casino with Dad and possibly my aunt, she doesn’t know yet. That following Friday (Nov. 3rd) I’m going to be at my aunts house for a week while she goes to Aruba. So all-in-all it’s going to be a pretty busy end-of-the-month for me. Nothing I can’t handle though. I’ll still be able to work on things either way.

I’m slowly getting the new AGn-Solutions template up and running. It’s taking me a bit longer to customize everything than I thought it would but that’s ok. I’m proud of it, so I’m sure it will be worth it.

For now I’m in the living room and everyone is home. Maureen just got home from work so she’s extra talkative. Dad’s flipping through channels so I can safely say that right now there are three interesting shows on TV but none of them I’ll be able to watch considering I don’t feel like getting up to go to my room. The thing is, I’m the one who got the new TV for the living room because of Freepay and whatnot, but I can honestly say that I have rarely ever watched it. I was watching a movie out here today and finally got to see the HD color quality and damn, it’s some nice shit hehe.

I guess I’ll head off for the night. The boyfriend went to bed and I really have nothing else to do. I have a few comments to return from the last couple of entries so maybe I’ll do those before I completely sign off for the night. At least it’ll give me something to do for twenty minutes.

Night all.

Corporate America

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

It’s been a busy week, I’ve been working on a lot of scholarship essays. I’ve had a client or two come in to pick up business. I’m waiting, almost too patiently, for a few clients to pay up. It’s to the point now of being beyond absurd. One client used to contact me 3 times a day for the last 4 months of working on their project. The minute I send the bill he’s magically MIA. I believe this is the same thing going on with another girl but I’m not too sure on that yet it’s only been a week since I’ve last heard from her. Either way it’s a headache, I have bills to pay too, ya know?

My sister recently applied for a job at a local pharmacy, they called her back and now she just has to take a drug test and then she’s got the job. The problem I have with this company – already – is the fact that when she applied two months ago and listed herself as a Caucasian, she wasn’t called back. She listed herself as a Hispanic and they called her back. I personally see it as a lawsuit, she just sees it as an excuse for benefits. The problem is the fact that I based on what I already know about this store, they won’t honor her benefits anyway. A friend of mine has been there for six months. The first three months he was doing a solid 40 hour week and then magically, the week before he was going to apply for benefits, they dropped his hours and didn’t honor the past 3 months worth of work. But I guess that’s corporate America for you.

She told me to apply for their photo department because they need a day shift, and thanks to my CVS employment I’m certified in Osha so that should be an easy job for me. I just refuse to take it. I shouldn’t have to list myself as anything other than Caucasian just to get a dead end job.

In other news….the PayPerPost team recently stormed “The Today Show” with an absolutely fantastic display of Guerilla Marketing. Unfortunately I didn’t see the show but watching the footage of the show was enough for me to absolutely love these guys even more. I swear other than Newegg this is the only company that I’ll fully support until the day I/it dies! They’re the kind of company that knows exactly what needs to be done in order to get their names out there. If a trip to NY is what it takes to gain exposure, then they’re doing exactly the right thing. In agreement with a comment posted on the entry…yes all the PPP girls are hot, I don’t swing that way but get me drunk enough and I just might. And a note to the boyfriend…you can stop drooling now, if it ever did happen you couldn’t be in the room :nudge:

Updates, Updates, Updates

Friday, September 22nd, 2006

AGn Listings is officially open for business. Please head over and submit your site. It’s opened a little over a week sooner than I thought it was going to be, but I was in the mood to get things done today so that’s that…heh.

I’ve submitted two scholarship essays sofar, I’m currently working on a third so it’s got me a little busy. When I’m done on this third one I’ll go back to working on finishing the new template for AGn Solutions hopefully I’ll have that up soon.

For now…my ass hurts from sitting here for the last two hours so I’m going to walk around a bit and then have some dinner.

Myspace Sucks!

Monday, August 28th, 2006

Okay, so while I was doing some google searching today for jobs I came across a site in full dedication to the suckness that is Myspace.com. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed this hard in my entire life.

myspacesucks.8m.com

The interesting thing about this site is the fact that they go out of their way to say exactly what you’re thinking in regards to myspace.com. I almost pee’d a little for laughing so hard…and yes, I’ll admit to that.

I do wish that their shop contained more than hats, tee’s and buttons. I’m considering emailing them and requesting cups, mouse pads and other goodies to really bring attention to the tragedy that is myspace.com

Go, read, comment with your thoughts, enjoy!

Gratis = SCAM!

Saturday, August 26th, 2006

I’m having quite a bit of trouble sleeping tonight so I’ve been doing some searching through google for a few things to keep me occupied. Unfortunately, I’ve come across something that I wasn’t expecting that has me a tad bit extremely pissed off!

A few months back, the Gratis Network went out of their way to email all of the users in the database telling them that their ‘new policy’ for accounts is a 90-day turn around time. This means that a user has 90 days to sign up and complete an offer, refer x amount of friends to do the same and then you have to wait it out until your account is approved. This “90 Day” email more than likely came from a company that Gratis sold their email databases to…I didn’t find this out until recently when I checked the inbox I use for freebies and there are THOUSANDS of spam emails in there because of this bull shit. But….I digress

I went out of my way to find the last 5 referrals I needed for my Digital Camera. I pushed, begged and even paid for people to complete an offer to qualify me for this camera. I figured I wouldn’t be losing anything because I have received an iPod as well as a television from this company before.

When I saw the notification stating that I qualified for cash out, I noticed small print stating that I have to print out a .PDF file, fill it out and then SNAIL MAIL it back to them. I thought “Wow, no more internet based ordering…interesting”. It took them a month and a half to approve my form. On June 27th, 2006 – they began ‘processing’ my order.

Now, in dealing with this company in the past – I figured it would be a quick two weeks and I’d have my camera. Well…I was wrong. Unfortunately, since receiving these items (over a year ago) their company has drastically gone down hill. They now have a frequently copied-and-pasted notice to anyone inquiring about when they’re going to receive their free item. At first I thought this was based on just digitalcameras.freepay.com but it turns out this is a universal message to any and everyone going through this company and is waiting on their free item.

Thank you for contacting FreePay Customer Service. Our Fulfillment Department has received your order. Once an order has been placed, it is added to a queue on a first come first served basis. We currently do not carry excess inventory in our fulfillment center therefore your product is not ordered from the manufacturer until it has been placed. Furthermore, orders are bundled together and ordered in bulk typically on a monthly basis. Therefore we are unable to provide a specific timeframe. Currently, we are experiencing delays of up to 90 days. We realize that this is beyond your normal expectation. These steps are necessary in order for us to continue to provide free products to our customers. We recognize this may further delay receipt of your product but want to assure you of our commitment to honor all legitimate orders. We apologize that further inquiries into this matter can not be processed; as there is no additional information available until your order status has changed from ?¢‚Ǩ?ìpending?¢‚Ǩ¬ù, ?¢‚Ǩ?ìprocessing?¢‚Ǩ¬ù, or ?¢‚Ǩ?ìin progress?¢‚Ǩ¬ù to ?¢‚Ǩ?ìshipped?¢‚Ǩ¬ù. Please note that our Fulfillment Department is currently processing all placed orders dating back to April 2006. We appreciate your continued patience. Sincerely, The FreePay Customer Service Team

This was the same notice that I received on my Freepay account status. However, I did not copy and paste this notice from there. I copied it from a woman’s comment on someone’s site. This comment was posted in MAY 2006.

So it’s very safe to say that there’s a 99.9% chance that I will not be receiving my camera from Gratis. The only legit company left, thus far is Offer Centric – whom has also changed a lot of shit around as well. I’m 8 referrals away from my $1800 and now the only offers they have require a deposit of a large sum of cash – sorry, it’s just not worth it. I’m working 3 jobs, I can make the $1800 in a week, so I’m done with that shit.

But, moving back to Gratis. The thing they’re really good at doing is ratifying the Terms of Service every time things seem to get ‘rough’ in regards to user feedback. They’re also very quick to place accounts on hold because someone was ‘walked through the sign up process’ or because they simply don’t wish to tell you what you did wrong. The important fact to remember would be that whether they approve you or not, they’re still being paid for every single valid referral that comes through the gratis network on every single site.

This means that Gratis has ripped off the internet community of not only millions of dollars, but of trust in general considering how quick they are to turn around and sell your email address to an outside party. They changed their name to “Freepay” to avoid the bad press now that they’re permitting sign-ups in other countries. They claim to have shipped over $14 Million in products (over the course of the last 3 years), even though the company brings in about $20-$25 million a year in revenue from users completing offers. With numbers like that, you would assume that alot more free items would be shipped out. If you started a business to prove how much you wanted to ‘pay back the community’ at least take your hand out of the cookie jar. It’s not one for them, ten for me – butt suckers.

It’s safe to say that if you’re even considering signing up for anything in relation to Gratis that you deserve to be smacked excessively with a frozen trout.

I’ll be taking mine out of the freezer momentarily.

If it weren?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t for the fact that you guys loved me enough to click all of my Google-ads and earn me over $115.00 today, I think I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢d be beating the shit out of something right now. Maybe I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ll gain enough revenue from ad-clicks so that I can just go out and get my own damn camera. At least I know this one will show up after I order it?¢‚Ǩ¬¶heh. I appreciate all of the clicking, it truly made my night.

Spector Soft

Sunday, July 30th, 2006

I have recently come across a company that specializes in computer monitoring software. This company is Spector Soft and I have to say that I really agree with what they’re doing. Lately in the news you hear a lot about how privacy is violated and you also hear about how parents aren’t keeping in touch with what their children are doing online. I find it to be rather absurd, to be honest.

In the news, for example, I’ve seen a lot being said about how companies don’t permit their employee’s to access certain websites or use programs such as AIM while they’re at work. The real issue is, YOU’RE AT WORK, why are you worrying about checking personal email and updating your blog? I don’t care if you’re bored at work – do something productive – you aren’t being paid to blog, and if you truly think that way…you should be fired.

Lets say that AGn Solutions gets really big and I need to rent out office space just to cater to the stacks of paperwork, plus hire employees to do some design work. If I were to walk around said office and hear an IM ring, or some chick moaning from the random porn site the employee loaded – they would not only be scolded for it but they would be fired. I understand that sometimes you have nothing to do.

When I worked at CVS, at some low points in the day there was some down time; so you had the ability to take a quick drink and then bounce back up and smile as well as say hello to whoever walked in the door. When the store was absolutely dead, you couldn’t find me just standing up at the register twirling my hair around my finger and snapping my gum. I would get up and rearrange and/or clean something. Why? Because that’s what you do when you’re working for someone else. If a supervisor walked in and saw that X number of people weren’t doing anything – it looks BAD for the company. So the next time you’re AT WORK, and sitting at your desk talking it up on AIM with your friends. Remember that you aren’t worth the pay check you’re getting.

I’ve come across sites in the past where people were blogging from work and I honestly find it to be disrespectful. You’re hired to do a job, and a job does not mean you sit on your ass and make sure that your ‘adoring fans’ are in with every single part of your life. I find it disgusting when it’s more important to blog than to get your work done. If you were an employee of mine, then you’d be fired instantly.

It’s one thing to have a blog. Having one myself I can say that it would be hypocritical of me to not hire someone because they had a blog (as most companies do). However, this does not mean that when I’m on the clock (9-5) I’ll be updating my personal blog for the sake of having ‘nothing better to do’. I’d expect an employee to treat that the same way. The software from spectorsoft.com would play a big role in my keeping on top of things. I’d basically see every website loaded and every log-in attempted whether I permitted access or not.

Sick=SUCKS!

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

I’ve been meaning to blog for a few days but I just haven’t had the energy to do it. I never went to sleep on Saturday night, I finally crashed for like 4 hours on Sunday afternoon. I woke up and realized that my day was shot. This didn’t stop me from staying awake until 6am Monday morning. So my schedule is totally shot to hell.

On Sunday, my throat was bothering me. By Monday morning, it was a cough and by Monday afternoon it was a full blown cold like nobody’s business. I made a promise to myself the last time I got sick that I would not blow my nose no matter how much it was bothering me. So I have no idea as to why I blew my nose yesterday because it’s been non-stop ever since. It’s driving me crazy.

If I’m not coughing, I’m sneezing. If I’m not sneezing I’m blowing my nose, and if I’m not blowing my nose I’m sniffling. So no matter what I do I’m basically making as much noise as humanly possible. I know it’s driving Bella crazy because she hasn’t been sleeping in bed with me like she usually does. Which I guess I don’t mind because the last thing I need when I’m sick is someone touching me. My sister poked me this afternoon and I wanted to rip her face off.

Purple fades…
My toe is slowly beginning to heal, it’s still purple but not AS purple as it was. I’m not sure if it was a ‘break’ though, I’m convinced it’s more of a hefty sprain because it still hurts to put pressure on it, even a week after it happened. I went to Payless this afternoon and got myself a new pair of mules. The swelling went down enough that I could fit my foot into the shoe without wincing in pain so I figured that was as good a time as any to go out and buy a new pair. They only cost me like $11, which kind of peeved me because the website said $7.99 but I really could care less at this point. I got myself some socks too, didn’t spend over $15 (which was the original budget anyway) so I’m not overly concerned about it. I know you’re sitting there like “Damn, cheap much?” but that’s really not the case. I use the slip-ons for house hold things like walking the dog, taking out the garbage, etc. They wouldn’t really leave the general area of my house so what’s the point of dropping anything more than like $10-$15 on something that is used only for ‘slip-on and go’ kind of stuff…you know?

To tan…or not to tan…
I went to Walgreen?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s, picked up what I needed for this weekend. I’m going to be at my aunts house. I’ll have my laptop with me so I’ll have something to do. It’s my goal to be outside soaking up as much sun as possible. She has a very private yard so I don’t have to worry about a child or pet midget popping up out of no where. It’ll be nice to sit back and relax without a care in the world. I’ll be able to sleep without a dog between my legs. I’ll have 600 channels to flip through and not be able to find anything to watch. I’ll have Figgy to keep me company when I’m really bored, and a deli right down the street for when I’m in the mood for my typical Sunday breakfast of yogurt and a croissant, whenever I’m at her house.

Sitely…
It took me a lot longer than expected but I’m finally on top of all of my listings as far as member approvals go. I still have a few hate listings to move over to new addresses and to upgrade them to Enthusiast as well. The database for Enthusiast is a bit more secure than the ones are for PHP Fanbase. I know that issue has been around for about a year now but either way it’s one I’m slowly working on correcting. I was considering just leaving it and writing in an image verification for the submit forms but I’m really not in the mood to fuck around with someone else?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s code so I’ll just stick to Enthusiast and not care too much about it.

I did write an image verification for one of my cliques. It was being run with acidCLIQUE and I’m now working on moving it over to a new setup. There are only about 300 members but even still, I don’t want to lose that database anytime soon. I’m reconfiguring it for mass-editing as well as image verification. I didn’t think it was as insecure as it is but apparently I was wrong. It gets more spam than PHP Fanbase ever did. So much for thinking I was doing the right thing by creating my own script for it…eh?

And yea…
In any event. I just got the shit scared out of me by one of my sisters friends who jogged up the stairs out of absolutely no where. He’s a very dark kid to begin with so wearing black clothes in an area that’s damn near pitch-black did not work out well at all. I almost shit myself until I realized who it was. I don’t like the bastard, but at least I know him by name, which is more than I can say about any of her other friends. They all have some kind of stupid nickname that makes no sense to the rest of humanity so at least he’s a step up from them, still an ignorant bastard either way though LOL.

I’m signing off for the night. I’ll poke around from time to time to see what’s going on. I’ll also be checking in on my despair, xposure and other rotations as the days go by.

Later all.
