Total Body TransFIRMation System

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

As some of you may, or may not, know – I’ve been working very hard since April to drop the weight I’ve put on since high school. Now, I admit that I was always a larger girl but when I lost my daily activity and was only really going to work and standing at a register, I wasn’t getting enough exercise to really maintain what I was in school. Now that I’m working from home and don’t really leave the office unless it’s for the sake of doing things around the house, I found myself putting on even more unwanted weight. When I moved down here in January I was about 240. By April I’d shot up to 260. Now after a few months of working on it I’m back down in the 240 range and hopefully I’ll be able to reach my goal of 180 over the course of the next year – if that.

I’ve searched the net for many different forms of weight loss. From pills and food combinations that just don’t work to weight loss videos that don’t motivate me to do much of anything. Today I came across a website named getfirmtoday.com, which is the Total Body TransFIRMation System. I did some searching around their website and came to find that women have lost over 100 pounds on this system and considering it’s my goal to lose 80 (in total) I continued looking into more information with this system.

The FIRM CardioWeight System claims to work because it combines fat-burning cardio and body-sculpting weights to burn up to three times more fat than aerobics alone. They claim that this exercise will melt the fat and reshape your body for results that you can see in 10 work outs or less. The thing for me is, all weight-loss plans will work in the first 10 workouts, that’s why I don’t typically buy into slogans like that. Anyone who’s done their research should know that you’re going to lose weight just by getting off your butt. Anyone who hasn’t worked out in years, maybe even months, is going to see results within 10 work outs because your body has now been jump started. The problem is after those 10 workouts where your body starts to slow down when it comes to reprocessing how it works, then the weight naturally will come off slower than it did previously. In theory, all weight-loss systems work, it’s the amount of time that they work for you that’s the kicker.

The FIRM CardioWeight System is a series of total body workouts that combine cardio with weight training to sculpt your muscles and tone your body. By using the adjustable CardioWeight‚Ñ¢ hand weights, you gradually increase resistance as you become stronger and leaner. They also say that with this program you will be more confident in yourself as well. Their system includes a few DVD’s. The first is CardioWeight, followed by Cardio Overdrive, Hard Core Fusion, Hi-Def Sculpt and a bonus Cardio Party DVD.

Looking further into their program I came across one of their videos.

I know that an important aspect to losing weight is keeping your body active. For now until I’ve lost a bit more and there is less strain on my back, naturally I’ll continue with my daily walks around the complex. After I drop a few more pounds and am more comfortable with working out on a much higher level, I think I may consider getting involved with Total Body TransFIRMation System.

Resources: Calorie Counter

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Anyone on a diet knows how hard it is to find free resources to make your weight loss easier. With all of the high-priced programs out there, the last thing you want to do is spend even more money just to find out quick information about your progress, free of charge. One of the links that I’ve had on my resources list for quite some time is a free calorie counter that helps you figure out just what you’re doing throughout the day – without having to calculate points or figure out some huge math equation just so you know what you ate today. I don’t care how someone figured out that 15 mini pretzels is 1 point on weight watchers, I also don’t care to decode all of the mumbo-jumbo that had them come to this conclusion. Naturally I’m going to look for other resources that will work just fine for me, thankfully myfitnesspal.com is a 100% free no credit card required resource to help you move a long a bit further.

Accepting it still doesn’t make me happy

For many years now, my grandmother has been having some serious trouble with her legs. So much so that she finds going up and down the stairs, let alone walking in general, to be nothing more than excruciating pain. A few months ago my aunt decided to call a company that designs custom stairlifts for all kinds of homes. She has one that leads to the basement so it’s easier for her to get her laundry done. My grandfather helps out as much as he can but at the moment he’s not only dealing with prostate cancer but he’s had horrible knees for as long as I can remember. They both use the stairlifts on almost a daily basis just so they can keep the house maintained. I know relatives go over to help out but when you’re closest form of help is a phone call and about 15 minutes away, anything can happen.

When it comes to the main floor of the house she alternates between her cane and her wheelchair. She’s completely capable of walking around, it’s just that if she does it too long she winds up in quite a bit of pain. Her frustration now-a-days is the fact that she’s now also dealing with arthritis. For many years she’s knitted, sewed and done everything you would expect an Italian grandmother to do. Now she’s unable to hold the needles, or even thread a spool onto her sewing machine in order to get anything accomplished, yet again she’s looked towards outside help.

Her leg problems started many years ago, she’s always had bad ankles and even with surgery to attempt to fix her problems, it only made them worse. The surgeon managed to cut into a nerve that has destroyed all possibility for a full recovery. She’s dealing with a lawsuit on top of the fact that she’s worse now than she’s ever been before, and it ticks me off to no end that this doctor claims he had nothing to do with it.

My grandfather just recently came to find out that he has prostate cancer. His prostate is so enlarged that they can’t even really begin proper cancer treatment on him. They’re giving him some kind of medication to shrink his prostate and then they’re going to work on the kemo and everything else that he would need in order to get himself all ‘fixed up’ as he puts it. Either way I know he’s in a lot of pain, who knows how much more he’ll be able to stand.

The topic of my grandparents is slowly taking it’s toll on me. I realize that they’re not going to be around for much longer and while they have all the help in the world, that still doesn’t cut down the chance that one or both of them may no longer be with us tomorrow.

Smorty.com

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

I’ve been involved with blog advertising for over a year now and I’m thankful to have been pretty successful with it. I’m working with quite a few different companies at the moment, one of which is Smorty.com. I’ve posted about 4-5 entries with them but this is only based on the fact that they’re a fairly new company. I like their system though, I wish I had the opportunity to post for more than one blog as I do for many other companies but I’m by no means turned off by them because they don’t have that option. Companies like Smorty work very hard in order to allow you to get paid for blogging. There are a lot of people who say that it’s considered ‘selling out’ but bloggers have been writing their opinions on products and other sites for many years, being paid for it really isn’t that wrong at all.

In total I’ve earned over $8000 blogging in the last year, considering it’s just writing a random entry here and there, naturally I’m going to bask in the glory of how I get paid to blog. Smorty is just one more company that will help you reach whatever financial goals you have for your site. There is never going to be another million dollar homepage but if you partner up with the right companies and services you can earn a six figure income just giving an opinion. How could anyone possibly have something bad to say about that?

Needing some kind of relief…

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Nurofen Plus I haven’t been doing too well lately. I don’t know if it’s the stress from all of the walking, the horrible bed that I’m sleeping on, or if it’s the fact that I’ve spent so much time sitting in uncomfortable chairs while I work all day, but I find myself being in more pain than usual. I’ve been searching every where for a pain reliever that doesn’t require me taking prescription drugs. There’s plenty of vicodin and percocet in the house but I get so tired and so sick after taking products like that, that I really have no choice but to take some aspirin and suck it up.

I found a new product, Nurofen Plus, that’s supposed to be a very strong pain reliever. It’s a dual action of ibuprofen and codeine. It’s powerful temporary relief for strong pain and/or inflammation associated with headache, tension headache, migraine headache, period pain, dental pain, back and neck pain, neuralgia, rheumatic and arthritic pain, muscular pain and sports pain.

So yea, it covers a lot of area’s but does it actually work? I honestly don’t know. While I believe that strong pain relievers are important – I’m not too sure about the $35 price tag attached to it. I also don’t know if this is even FDA approved and unfortunately I couldn’t find much information about it other than it’s made in New Zealand. It requires a bit more research for me to get myself into something like this…I’ll stick to Tylenol for now but guess it’d be worth trying for those who can’t get relief anywhere else.

Streaming Video Made Easy!

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

It’s always interesting coming across new products. While I admit to not being an avid online video watcher, I do pay close attention to the ones that I do. I came across a FREE program today that you can save any video to your computer, phone or media devices. You can watch video’s on demand from around the globe while surfing the web. You can browser over 4 million videos from thousands of categories. You can watch these video’s while you surf the web with the “Float” option. They offer the latest in news, business, sports, weather and more. It is a streaming video player called LePlayer. It’s the most comprehensive video search tool out there, and it’s 100% FREE.

System requirements include:

Microsoft 98, ME, 2000, XP or NT 4.0
A 300MHz or higher processor.
128MB Ram
1024×768 resolutions
TCP/IP network connection

Based on my website stats, I know that 90% of my visitors have the minimum requirements for this program. I can find out what browser you’re on, what screen resolution you have, plus your version of windows and network connection. Based on these alone, you can download this program. It’s completely free and really makes your video surfing much easier. For those who are really into internet clips, this is almost definitely the script for you.

Digital Picture Frames

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

The world is coming up with new and interesting things every day. A few weeks ago I was at D’s house (BF’s aunt) and I noticed a really cool screen sitting next to her. I asked her what it was and she pulled out her digital camera memory card and slipped it into this machine. With a flick of the switch her images began popping up on the screen. I’d never seen anything like this before so I had to find out where she got it. It was a Christmas gift for her but she praised it with all she possibly could.

It’s called the digital photo frame. It’s actually pretty simple to use. You take the photos with your digital camera, you transfer the memory card out of your digital camera and plug it into the five-in-one card reader on the side of your digital picture frame and then use the remote control and you’ve got your own personal slide show.

It comes in a few different sizes. You can choose from a 7″, 8″, 9″ and 10″ frame. It’s a standard five-in-one card reader that supports CF, XD, MS, SD and MMCIt video cards. It supports JPEG, MP4, DivX, AVI, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, MP3, WMA and WAV formats. So you don’t even have to worry about it only supporting images, you can view movie clips that have been taken with your digital camera, you can even play music in the background to give it a ‘slide show’ kind of a feel. The 7″ frame is priced around $100 but if you really do love digital photos than I’m sure you’d want to upgrade yourself to the 10″ frame that runs approximately $220. I’d say if you were really into taking pictures than that’s the one you’d go for.

You should head over to digitalframez.com and check it out. Seeing it in person is a whole lot cooler but considering how annoying it can be to change out picture frames, the ability to just plug your memory card in and have the photos alternate with the push of a button, just makes it worth the purchase.

Starting a Business?

Monday, April 16th, 2007

Women spend BILLIONS of dollars a year on make-up, clothing, personal care and accessories. Knowing this, you can easily dream of owning a successful business selling even one new, hip and cool item. Running your own little store is always a great idea but sometimes that can take away from the quality of your work. You’d have to set hours, rent/purchase a location, possibly hire someone to help you out if the store gets busy. It’s quite a bit of a hassle. You won’t bring in enough money at first so bills will be tight…a series of things could go wrong…you’d really need to think hard. Thanks to the internet, however, you don’t really have to think at all. You can design your products, get some free or even cheap web hosting to publish your name and then setup shopping cart software and start selling your products.

When surfing the net you come across quite a few websites where you can register an account to run your own e commerce website for little to no money. The company handles everything for you. The script installation, support to help you figure out what you’re doing and many other factors to help make your time online the best it can possibly be.

One site I’ve come across is Ashop Commerce. They offer you a no-installation required store. You can accept credit cards online, there are thousands of features with their scripts and they’re all easy to use. You can start selling instantly and you can completely customize the store to match your existing website. The really cool thing is they offer a 10 day free trial so you can get a feel for the program before you even spend any of your own money. I’d say that’s the best route to take, don’t you?

So if you’re interested in getting your own business up and running but don’t want to spend a lot of money doing it, head on over to Ashop Commerce and create your own shopping cart for free and start selling your heart out!
