Wednesday, June 13th, 2007Attacked Again!
Wednesday, June 13th, 2007I was having a little bit of an issue with my desktop today. I made the mistake of leaving it on last night and never started up Spy Sweeper to protect anything. I sometimes like to leave it running in the background but I was working with so many RAM heavy programs yesterday that shutting it down was the only real option for me. I woke up and saw so much crap loaded on here that it was unreal. I had a mail bomb hit one of my old Hotmail boxes and it had one of those attachments that kind of extracts itself and I had the settings altered on Thunderbird so it kind of auto-installed and the rest is history. Either way I was able to clear everything up, thank god. Considering Spy Sweeper is considered to be the most award-winning anti-spyware software, it was a fairly easy fix.
Dinner went pretty well tonight, everyone was happy. I didn’t even finish my dinner because I was just too full from everything. I did pretty well with portion control. I had some of my salad, and an equal amount of my steak and rice. The waitress seemed surprised when I said rice as the side dish, everyone did actually. I enjoy rice, I’m the only one in the house who actually eats rice. Granted I do mix some of it into Bella’s food on occasion but most dog food companies do as well so there’s nothing wrong with that. I’m having trouble getting her to eat at the moment, I really wish I knew what to give her. I’ve tried meatloaf, two different kinds of chicken and even just like potato chips so she could have SOMETHING in her stomach to stop her from puking. I’m all out of ideas at this point.
In any event, I’ve got a long night ahead of me, since I’m done with Adobe I guess I’ll boot SpySweeper back up and hope that this doesn’t happen again. :ugh:
Drug Rehab
Tuesday, June 12th, 2007I’m to a point now that any chance for talking about drug rehab, I kind of jump on so I can get it’s importance out there. I’ve lost too many people to addiction to not have some sort of a passion for it. I came across a new site for addiction treatment this morning. I found it kind of interesting because it’s not the typical center. Most centers have people doing things based on what they learned out of a text book.
At Stone Hawk they know quite a bit about addiction because they were once addicted themselves. They program they work with, Narconon, worked for them when other programs failed.¬† It’s probably one of the most successful programs in the country because of their 76%+ success rate. It breaks down to basically 3 out of every 4 people who graduates from their program leaves clean and stays clean. It’s an alternative to the 12-step program, one that seems rather interesting.¬† You should consider checking it out if you or someone you know needs treatment.

Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo?
Friday, June 8th, 2007Baby and I spend quite a bit of time watching the cartoon network, mainly because he’s a big Futurama fan and I personally enjoy Family Guy, either one is typically on around the time we turn the television on for the night. A few times during the day, however, I’ve seen commercials for a series named “Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo” I personally have no idea how to say it without sounding like an idiot but when I saw an opportunity to learn some more about it, I went ahead and took it. After logging into a download site for them, I came across a few episodes. I’m not really into anime but I found the first episode to be rather amusing. Some guy is going around and basically scalping everyone. Not in the way you’d assume though, they’re just stealing peoples hair.
This one girl had very pink hair that I actually found to be rather cute. She’s running for her life to get away from him and some other guy comes up and ‘saves her’ from it. She then turns around to find out who it is and it’s some big blonde dude with nose hair that’s so long it’s waving in the wind. He’s the main character Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. I found it to be rather amusing, there are sections in Japanese when it comes to the wording of the video, however, and I have no idea what any of it says. I figure if you’re going to convert a video for multiple audiences, at least transform the text too – you know? The running theme for each episode is rather funny too “Let’s get wiggy with it”.
It’s not as obnoxious as most anime that I’ve seen, I may actually watch this show on occasion. If you’re interested in learning more about it, you can check out the Official Website for it.
Lack of inspiration getting the best of me…
Friday, June 8th, 2007I’m going through a severe lack of inspiration at the moment. I believe it’s based on the fact that I haven’t been down to the beach in a while. According to my inbox I have quite a few jobs coming to me but I feel as though I don’t have enough energy to get through them. The work I’m doing at the moment seems rather small in comparison to what I’m used to. I don’t discredit it in any way because I do love what I do, don’t get me wrong. I just feel like I should be doing something much bigger than I have been lately. The little site work here and there doesn’t bother me by any means, I just want to work on something HUGE.
I get quite a bit of inspiration from listening to the waves. I always feel a lot more energized when I’ve left the beach. I get the same effects by looking at the stars as well. Unfortunately with all of the ambient light around here, it’s close to impossible for me to see enough stars to keep me calm. I came across a new product recently; it’s called skyscout. It’s a hand-held, point-shot-and-identify multimedia guide to the universe that can guide you through the night sky better than if you had your own private astronomer standing next to you. I’m used to my grandfather telling me where things are located. He’s always been into astronomy, he’s spent lord knows how much money on telescopes and other interesting gadgets so he could get a better look at the sky at night. He trucks it up to Maine with his friends once a year when they’re doing the children’s toy run. They spend a bit of time just laying in the grass looking up, there’s close to no light up there so the sky looks like nothing but sparkles at night.
Living in a highly populated area with a lot of ambient light, I never really believed that the sky could be over loaded with stars. Sean took me to some farm a few miles inland and I close to pee’d in excitement – I could see everything. The area we were in had us both on edge but if we could happen to find another field like it (which isn’t hard in Delaware considering it’s all freaking farm life here) I’d really like to go back and sit under the stars again.
You can’t see them very well from the beach, the lights along the board walk make it hard for you to really see anything at night. Sure, the waves calm me down but after that, there’s not much to look at – you know? I guess I’m just venting, I don’t know…could be that I’m feeling borderline depressed today for some reason.
Why Spy Sweeper is the way to go!
Thursday, June 7th, 2007As many of you may know, my old desktop crashed a little while after Joe died. At first I thought it was because of the fact that he may have crashed his the night he died and wanted every computer he’s ever worked on to die, or it was a virus or spy ware attack that destroyed windows. Either way there was no fixing it. I tried everything I could in order to get things back up and running the way it was supposed to. It took me about 4 days just to remove all of the spy ware and it was all put on there because my sister decided to install some stupid download program that permitted EVERYTHING in, damn Kazaa! I had an overflow of pop ups, more installations of programs like bonsai buddy and other random crap that I could imagine. I was SO happy when I finally found some decent programs to start getting rid of it all.
I used many different programs but the only one that actually got the job done was Spy Sweeper. I bought the program about six months prior to my computer crashing. I’d been using a trial version for a while and decided to go ahead and purchase it. I was rather content with it so I figured purchasing it would be the best way to go.
I’ve used many other programs in the past but the only thing that ever worked for me was in fact Spy Sweeper. I will say, however, if you’re running on a system that naturally lags I wouldn’t recommend using it, it does eat up a lot of resources. But I’m basing this on older systems. Karen’s old computer was really crappy and had no resources to eat up, Spy Sweeper did keep a lot of extra things off it, but she did still need the new one. Now she’s got everything loaded up on the new desktop and thankfully with more ram and a better processor, Spy Sweeper runs PERFECTLY for her.
Student Loans, Debt, Valuable Money Articles
Thursday, June 7th, 2007With the new flow of money coming in, I’m confident that I’ll be able to work towards getting a student loan to get myself into school. I’ve been doing a lot of research on a few schools and after talking to a representative from AIUOnline.edu, I’m confident that they’re the school I’ll be working towards attending. They cost about $32,000 for the entire course, this will give me a bachelors degree in web design, which is exactly what I was looking for. Sean was going to help me look into grants and scholarships, even financial aid considering I’m emancipated from my father at this point in time. The one I think will actually WORK is a student loan, because they know if money is lent they’re getting it back. While scholarships, grants and financial aid don’t require being paid back – I know that they’ll give almost anyone with a co-signer a student loan so they can overcharge you with interest rates.
Worse case scenario, I’ll have to pay off a student loan with a debt consolidation loan but this is based on whether or not business maintains the flow it is at the moment. There are a few aspects of this that kind of freak me out though. After doing some surfing around thriftyscot.co.uk, I came across a list of articles about loans, credit cards, mortgages and other money related things. There were a few that stood out for me; The real cost of borrowing is measured in fear. Another article that stood out was in regards to student loans, naturally I was looking for one about it considering what’s on my mind right now. It’s respectively titled The mechanics of a student loan. There are a lot of money based articles listed on thriftyscot.co.uk, I’d seriously recommend it to anyone.
Movies: 1408
Wednesday, June 6th, 2007Anyone who knows me knows that I do truly believe in the supernatural. I know for a fact that Joe is still floating around me. I’ve listed numerous times that he’s given me shooting stars, a breeze and many other things that have brought a sense of comfort to me after his death. I know that whenever I need him there for support, he is. And while I can’t personally speak to him, he does still give me signs to let me know when he’s around and listening to me.
Just recently I came across a commercial for 1408 Movie. It’s starring John Cusack (whom I love) and it’s pretty darn interesting based on what I’ve read about it.
Based on the short Stephen King horror story of the same name, 1408 surrounds supernatural writer Mike Enslin, an author of two hit books focusing on supernatural phenomena. As research for his latest book, Enslin is determined to check out the notorious room 1408 in a New York City hotel by personally staying as a guest in the fabled room. With the intention that 1408 is just a myth perpetuated by stories and rumor that Enslin has collected for his past works. However, hotel manager Mr. Olin has strong objections to Enslin’s stay and only warns him of possible danger to come. But Enslin is determined to go through and convinced that the horrific past of 1408 is just mere coincidence and a myth. But what Mike Enslin is about to experience is no myth, as 1408 truly is a room where the guests don’t check out by noon.
And below is a quick trailer of 1408 Movie if you’re interested in the visual aspect of it. Sometimes reading the text for it takes away from the movie itself, even if it is based on a book of course…heh.

Website Optimization Services
Monday, June 4th, 2007After a previous post about website optimization, I kind of figured that I needed to clear a few things up. I’m not telling you to go out and spend $5,000 to have someone plug keywords into your page and submit your site into search engines. There are many other resources out there that are a lot cheaper if you really feel as though an outside website optimization company can help you. There’s a company that goes by submitawebsite.com where they help you with all of your website optimization services needs.
The reason I actually like this company is because they actually have the rankings that you would expect from an optimization company. They currently rank with a PR6 but with the way Google is changing things around I would assume their rank would be higher over time. They also have a fairly low alexa rank which is great as well. I did a quick search with a few of their keywords and they showed up in the top two spots which is always a great thing. It makes me feel confident to know that they will actually give you what they say they will. That’s always important.
Payday Loans
Monday, June 4th, 2007I’m sure I’ve spoken about them before but it’s good to know that Payday cash advance loans are easy to come by when you’re in a jam for paying your bills and you don’t quite have enough in the bank at the moment to cover it. There’s always the chance that your paycheck may not clear in time for you to cover your bills. There’s also the chance that an emergency will show up out of no where, as one did last night for me with Princess, and you’re going to need money for vet bills or even a hospital visit because of an accident. Resources like secureloanconsolidation.com is always a great resource to keep in your bookmarks. They’re quick, easy and painless and more than likely the loan will be in your bank account within 24 hours of the submission, sometimes even sooner. Just because you’re in a jam doesn’t mean that you can’t get the resources you need to fix them.
Breaking the law…
Sunday, June 3rd, 2007I know it’s old news by now but as most of you know, Lindsay Lohan has been arrested for DUI and possession, makes me giggle considering she’s supposed to be a ‘role model for younger girls’. Then people wonder why the future of America is in the hands of idiots, even beyond anything Bush could do. While poking around looking for more information on the subject, I came across Southern California Criminal & DUI Attorneys. Top 5% U.S. Law Firm. Former L.A. Prosecutors. – maybe someone should send these guys over to talk to Lindsay – eh? I kind of like looking around law sites but I think that’s because I’ve designed about 15 of them in the last two years, they spend big bucks getting their name out their on the internet and that’s just another reason why I love having lawyers around. I’ve got a few of them in the family, oddly enough two of them are divorce attorneys, it made the process for my parents very easy, heh.
But yea, head over to keglawyers.com and learn a thing or two that you probably never would have figured out on your own.
Future Vacation Plans
Sunday, June 3rd, 2007Baby is currently working on a site for a guy that lives out in California. I’m not sure where he lives exactly but I know with popular places like Hollywood, Los Angeles, San Diego, Silicon Valley and San Francisco, you’re bound to find something of interest. With the site he’s working on, I know that eventually we’re going to be heading out to California so part of me wonders how well that’s going to go over.
I do know that once this site launches he’s bound to come into a decent amount of money and I know that we’re planning on doing quite a bit of traveling with it, after we get a house and other things taken care of like paying off the credit cards and what not. He wants to go to California which is fine because that’s where his boss is. I, on the other hand, think that if I’m going to travel I want to go somewhere with a bit more history like Rome or London. I’ve always been itching to go to Europe, it’s going to continue to be a life-long dream for me though, I know it for sure.
CRM Software
Sunday, June 3rd, 2007Not too long ago I discussed a program called crm software which is a lead management software for businesses. The software can be found on aimpromote.com. I’d recommend it to anyone running a business with a lot of clients coming in on a regular basis. My previous boss used it to keep track of all of the potential clients, including the ones that he was already working with. Sometimes you can only use up so much notebook space to keep track of everything, it’s good to have a program on your computer that will take care of it for you.
If you have 15 or 500 users, this program will be easy for you to use. It doesn’t require you to download anything, everything is stored under your user name on aimpromote.com, it helps for those checking on leads when they aren’t at their regular computer. There’s no need for a thumb drive, just internet access. I’d say that’s a fairly nifty idea, wouldn’t you?
Search Marketing in Austin
Saturday, June 2nd, 2007Any webmaster would know the importance of using marketing to help their business. Sure, word of mouth is always a great deal but that only covers a limited number of people. By manipulating your website code you can get yourself indexed on Google, Yahoo, MSN and other major search engines to bring in some visitors to your site. This isn’t the only way to get your business out there though.
There’s a company named Apogee Search, Search Marketing in Austin, one of the 25 largest Search Engine Marketing firms in the world. It was founded by early Internet pioneers and McKinsey & Co. alumni. THei focus on a variety of proven online marketing methods that include paid search, natural search, affiliate marketing, and even pay-per-call. All of their solutions are designed to drive qualified, targeted visitors to B2B and B2C websites for more leads, customers, revenues and profits. Anyone with a business should consider looking into them.
