Engagement Plans

Monday, June 18th, 2007

While we haven’t really made any set-plans towards it yet, Sean and I have randomly going through ideas for Wedding Rings. Naturally women want diamonds but I’d also like mine to be a little bit different. I find Sapphire Rings to be really pretty, and moving away from the ‘norm’ I also find Emerald Rings to be rather pretty as well.

Amethyst Ring So, I’ve been doing some research on the subject. While I have a jewelry store under my belt, considering my family runs one, I like to think I know a thing or two about proper cuts, diamond clarity and other things that someone just walking into a jewelery store may not know about the product they’re getting. I go through many resources on the ‘net, even through direct vendors because I have the log-in keys for them. The one public one that I do like to surf through is mysolitaire.com because they feature some rather gorgeous rings on their site that you can’t help but adore. One of my personal favorites falls under the amethyst rings category because I’m in love with the color purple, and have been for many years. I found the ring above to be probably the more gorgeous of the bunch. It doesn’t take something ‘flashy’ to turn my eyes, it’s the more simplistic settings that I find appealing. I’ve considered this for a wedding ring, just not sure how that would go over considering my lust love for diamonds.

So many choices, so little time.

Wild Addictions

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

Some people collect rocks, key chains, bumper stickers, posters and even stuffed animals. Sean, on the other hand, takes the more expensive route. He’s got a fairly large collection of computer parts that he probably won’t ever need but the one thing he’s got an over abundance of is DVDs. He probably has over 300 DVD’s and the list will continue to grow over the course of the rest of his life, no doubt. I just recently pointed him in the direction of a movie collector site because I figured there could be some valuable resources for him to look through. As an organizational freak I’m looking for any excuse to organize him. He’s got a few big binders filled with DVD’s and I always wonder exactly how I could make them more…efficient, even if we don’t watch movies that often. It’s funny, he’s an addict. He makes it a point to grow his collection at any chance that he can get but hardly ever (if at all) will actually watch the movies he’s just purchased. I wonder if they have DVD’s anonymous? heh.

PayPerPost earns $7 million?!

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

PPP Many people know about PayPerPost, I think at this point anyone with a blog is desperately trying to get involved in their program. For those who don’t know anything about them, you choose an opportunity and then post about it in your blog. You can earn anywhere from $5 to $300 per post, right now they’re offering loads of money to users because of the fact that they’ve recently gotten $7million in funding. Not bad for a few blog ads right? Right now they’re running something where you can earn up to $700 if you happen to get there quick enough, I consider it kind of a blogger outreach program LOL. I’ve gotten it TWICE today but by the time I actually copied the link in, it was already taken BOTH TIMES!. I’m really pissed off about that too, I could seriously use the cash! I figured that if you hit “Take this opportunity” that your reserving it, but that’s not the case. I just wish it was.

Anyway, they’re want to know what to do with the money. I’d personally be greedy about it and ask that they drop $1,000 in my “PPP Direct” box but I doubt that would ever happen. I think it would be pretty cool if they setup a giveaway in their database where one random person’s email address is pulled for prize money. I also think they could help out a lot of their posties who are currently in college, or looking to go there, about a scholarship program. Lord knows I could use a few thousand towards school at the moment. Sean said it’s easy to find a scholarship, but how cool would it be to be able to say that paid blogging’s #1 company sent me to school? Yep, think about that and drool a little yourself.

I can do THAT with my cellphone!?

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

When dealing with any company, I like to look at them with an in-depth kind of an eye. Wirefly.com for example, is owned by InPhonic who is a well-known provider of great deals on cell phones and cell phone plans. I knew about both of these companies but I never know they were basically the same up until recently. I’ve spent a bit of time poking around and came across Wirefly ringtones, which are pretty highly regarded considering they offer you quite a bit. I was shocked, however, to find out even more juicy stuff about InPhonic, where the merge of InPhonic and WeatherBug can be quite useful. I’m someone who checks the weather report on a daily basis, knowing I can now get it on my cellphone is naturally going to interest me. I’m sure you can do it with many companies but that’s honestly not a feature that I thought existed outside of business based phones with Nextel. It’s good to know that it’s more widely available than I once assumed.

I’ve looked into every cellphone company available to me and while I’m convinced I’m going to lean towards Verizon, Tmobile is coming in a very close second. I’ve wanted a Razr for many years but if I can find something equally as cute then naturally I’m going to lean towards it. It’s my understanding, based on recent reviews, that the Razr isn’t as popular as it once was. Some people are with the “been there, done that” mentality in regards to the phone. Yes, it’s great finding a practical phone with many color options but this doesn’t mean that it’s the right one for you. At this point I’m looking into something that’s more internet ready than anything, I’ve been considering a blackberry for quite some time and may actually take that route in the future. It houses more options for what I need “on the go”. I’m also looking at it from a business standpoint, obviously. Well see what happens once bills are paid off. I’m going to need a new phone at some point, I just can’t list it as a priority just yet.

Smorty.com

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

I’ve been involved with blog advertising for over a year now and I’m thankful to have been pretty successful with it. I’m working with quite a few different companies at the moment, one of which is Smorty.com. I’ve posted about 4-5 entries with them but this is only based on the fact that they’re a fairly new company. I like their system though, I wish I had the opportunity to post for more than one blog as I do for many other companies but I’m by no means turned off by them because they don’t have that option. Companies like Smorty work very hard in order to allow you to get paid for blogging. There are a lot of people who say that it’s considered ‘selling out’ but bloggers have been writing their opinions on products and other sites for many years, being paid for it really isn’t that wrong at all.

In total I’ve earned over $8000 blogging in the last year, considering it’s just writing a random entry here and there, naturally I’m going to bask in the glory of how I get paid to blog. Smorty is just one more company that will help you reach whatever financial goals you have for your site. There is never going to be another million dollar homepage but if you partner up with the right companies and services you can earn a six figure income just giving an opinion. How could anyone possibly have something bad to say about that?

Find your Dream Car!

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

I do a lot of surfing around the net for new and interesting resources, lately I’ve been doing a lot of research into cars. Sean’s car is getting kind of old and he could really use a new one, he knows exactly what he wants but naturally I’m going to find out some more information on it so both he and I know what he’s getting himself into. I know it takes a lot of research, trial and error and especially shopping around for pricing when it comes to purchasing a new car. Not many people can walk into a dealership and say “I want that one…” then walk out of there within a half hour with their brand new toy. There are many sites out there that will help you find everything you’re looking for, there are even ones that are targeted to women, Find Your Dream Car on Ask Patty!, is a key example.

On Ask Patty, women can get advice on car purchases, maintenance, and other automotive related topics. It’s probably the most useful website for women car buyers because they provide women with even more tools to assist them in the shopping and buying process than any other site will offer you. It’s more than likely a great resource for women to keep in mind.

Coming soon to a DVD near you!

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

Reno 911 PPPThe 19th is fast approaching and I’m anticipating the DVD release of Reno 911! Miami The Movie. Baby and I saw it in the theater and still crack up over scenes whenever we think about them. I think one of my favorites is when they find the beached whale on the beach and while they’re trying to push it over, Junior winds up going right through it and Jim is saying “Officer Down! Get a wet nap people!”. After that would have to be when Trudy blows up the car and so innocently says “That was my bad…”. There are clips all over the place for the movie, some may prefer the trailer but one of the opening scenes isn’t half bad either, you can check that out here.

I’ve been watching the series since the first season so when they came out with a movie I was instantly excited by it. Anyone who’d hung out with me on Friday nights knew that I’d spend the entire day anticipating the show being on. When I found out that there would be Reno 911! Miami The Movie, I almost pee’d in excitement. Now I’m going to own the DVD and absolutely can’t wait. Blockbuster typically puts out their new releases on Tuesday, Sean already knows to be there on Tuesday afternoon no matter what he’s got going on. I can’t wait, I really can’t.

Resources: IDrive-E – Online Backups

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

PPPPPPIf you’re someone who likes to have a constant back up of your files, than IDrive-E may be the best thing for you. They’re an industry leading consumer online backup services. It’s 100% Free of charge, giving you up to 2,000MB (2GB) of space for your files. It’s fast and secure and easy to restore your files if you need to. You can protect everything from MP3’s, photos, videos, emails, financial documents and much more. Their mission is to save the world one computer at a time. I poked around the site for a little while and found it to be rather useful. I personally have a raid configuration so I don’t need the product for myself, but for anyone who frequently has to reinstall windows because of a lack of proper protection against viruses, spyware, or your kid sister and her down load sprees, than this is more than likely going to be the best program for you. Check it out, it’s free and it’s secure for all of your needs, no matter how large or small they are.

Attacked Again!

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

PPP PPP I was having a little bit of an issue with my desktop today. I made the mistake of leaving it on last night and never started up Spy Sweeper to protect anything. I sometimes like to leave it running in the background but I was working with so many RAM heavy programs yesterday that shutting it down was the only real option for me. I woke up and saw so much crap loaded on here that it was unreal. I had a mail bomb hit one of my old Hotmail boxes and it had one of those attachments that kind of extracts itself and I had the settings altered on Thunderbird so it kind of auto-installed and the rest is history. Either way I was able to clear everything up, thank god. Considering Spy Sweeper is considered to be the most award-winning anti-spyware software, it was a fairly easy fix.

Dinner went pretty well tonight, everyone was happy. I didn’t even finish my dinner because I was just too full from everything. I did pretty well with portion control. I had some of my salad, and an equal amount of my steak and rice. The waitress seemed surprised when I said rice as the side dish, everyone did actually. I enjoy rice, I’m the only one in the house who actually eats rice. Granted I do mix some of it into Bella’s food on occasion but most dog food companies do as well so there’s nothing wrong with that. I’m having trouble getting her to eat at the moment, I really wish I knew what to give her. I’ve tried meatloaf, two different kinds of chicken and even just like potato chips so she could have SOMETHING in her stomach to stop her from puking. I’m all out of ideas at this point.

In any event, I’ve got a long night ahead of me, since I’m done with Adobe I guess I’ll boot SpySweeper back up and hope that this doesn’t happen again. :ugh:

Drug Rehab

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

I’m to a point now that any chance for talking about drug rehab, I kind of jump on so I can get it’s importance out there. I’ve lost too many people to addiction to not have some sort of a passion for it. I came across a new site for addiction treatment this morning. I found it kind of interesting because it’s not the typical center. Most centers have people doing things based on what they learned out of a text book.

At Stone Hawk they know quite a bit about addiction because they were once addicted themselves. They program they work with, Narconon, worked for them when other programs failed.¬† It’s probably one of the most successful programs in the country because of their 76%+ success rate. It breaks down to basically 3 out of every 4 people who graduates from their program leaves clean and stays clean. It’s an alternative to the 12-step program, one that seems rather interesting.¬† You should consider checking it out if you or someone you know needs treatment.

We need to get out of here!

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

With the unwanted house guest, Sean and I are looking for any excuse possible just get out of here. She’s now asleep on the couch and I’m damn sure she’d have issues with people walking around the house. Karen is now stuck without a computer so she’s just sitting on the uncomfortable chair watching TV, all I can do is feel bad for her at the moment.

Sean and I feel as though we need a vacation, and no this isn’t based on just the last 24 hours. We’ve wanted to get out of here for a while, we work too hard and just need a break from it all. I’ve always wanted to go to Florida, he wants to go to Ohio to visit his brother. I got lucky and found Discount Disney Tickets, but as of this moment he seems uninterested in going. I can kind of see where he’s coming from though, it’s even hotter in Florida than it is up here, and there’s also heavy tourists walking around as well, worse than here and that’s considering that we’re in a resort town.

Either way we just want to get out of here and really have no idea how we’re going to go about doing so. I’m sure we’ll figure something out soon. I hear Maine has some rather mild summers, and as long as it’s not 90¬?F (32¬?C) for a few days on end, I’m pretty sure we’ll wind up looking north instead of south – that’s for sure.

New Resource: Glyconutrients

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

With the new path I’m slowly moving down along, naturally I’m looking for new information for vitamins to make sure I’m getting all of the nutrients that I need throughout the day. I know to drink about 8 glasses of water, I know to only eat food in moderation and a multi-vitamin without fish oil because of my severe allergy (hard to find) is something I take on a regular basis. I came across some new information today on something called: glyconutrients.

I had to do a bit of reading to find out exactly what it was but a quick break down would be:

Glyconutrients refers to mixtures of polysaccharides, such as exudate tree gums and high molecular weight aloe vera extracts containing fermentable dietary fiber and plant extracts, as well as simple sugars or starch. Identifies the contents of Ambrotose, as “a glyconutritional dietary supplement ingredient consisting of a blend of monosaccharides, or sugar molecules.” In the marketing literature, these sugars are said to be the following eight simple sugars: Xylose, Fucose, Galactose, Glucose, Mannose, N-acetylgalactosamine, N-acetylglucosamine, and N-acetylneuraminic acid.

Now according to glycoinformation.com, There are a wide number of health issues and concerns, which scientists have begun to link or believe, may be related to a deficiency of Glyconutrients. It is a good idea to speak with your primary care doctor, they maybe able to tell you if your medical concerns are in any way related to a lack of Glyconutrients or tell you if taking a supplement of Glyconutrients is right for you. As with any supplement, it is best to get a doctor’s OK before adding it to your daily routine. Glyconutrients are an important and necessary part of your cellular structure and seeing to it that you have the proper amount in your body is part of maintaining good health. Consider speaking with your doctor about whether or not a Glyconutrients supplement is right for you.

I’m not quite sure if this is the way I’m going to go, being on a diet I’d like to get rid of the sugar content in my body. You don’t need sugar to live, there are natural sources out there like fruit and even some vegetables I hear.

But for those whom are far more health conscious than I am, I say looking into some more information about the topic, glycoinformation.com has quite a few resources in regards to it, as well as a blog with even more information.

Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo?

Friday, June 8th, 2007

PPPPPPBaby and I spend quite a bit of time watching the cartoon network, mainly because he’s a big Futurama fan and I personally enjoy Family Guy, either one is typically on around the time we turn the television on for the night. A few times during the day, however, I’ve seen commercials for a series named “Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo” I personally have no idea how to say it without sounding like an idiot but when I saw an opportunity to learn some more about it, I went ahead and took it. After logging into a download site for them, I came across a few episodes. I’m not really into anime but I found the first episode to be rather amusing. Some guy is going around and basically scalping everyone. Not in the way you’d assume though, they’re just stealing peoples hair.

This one girl had very pink hair that I actually found to be rather cute. She’s running for her life to get away from him and some other guy comes up and ‘saves her’ from it. She then turns around to find out who it is and it’s some big blonde dude with nose hair that’s so long it’s waving in the wind. He’s the main character Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. I found it to be rather amusing, there are sections in Japanese when it comes to the wording of the video, however, and I have no idea what any of it says. I figure if you’re going to convert a video for multiple audiences, at least transform the text too – you know? The running theme for each episode is rather funny too “Let’s get wiggy with it”.

It’s not as obnoxious as most anime that I’ve seen, I may actually watch this show on occasion. If you’re interested in learning more about it, you can check out the Official Website for it.

Lack of inspiration getting the best of me…

Friday, June 8th, 2007

I’m going through a severe lack of inspiration at the moment. I believe it’s based on the fact that I haven’t been down to the beach in a while. According to my inbox I have quite a few jobs coming to me but I feel as though I don’t have enough energy to get through them. The work I’m doing at the moment seems rather small in comparison to what I’m used to. I don’t discredit it in any way because I do love what I do, don’t get me wrong. I just feel like I should be doing something much bigger than I have been lately. The little site work here and there doesn’t bother me by any means, I just want to work on something HUGE.

I get quite a bit of inspiration from listening to the waves. I always feel a lot more energized when I’ve left the beach. I get the same effects by looking at the stars as well. Unfortunately with all of the ambient light around here, it’s close to impossible for me to see enough stars to keep me calm. I came across a new product recently; it’s called skyscout. It’s a hand-held, point-shot-and-identify multimedia guide to the universe that can guide you through the night sky better than if you had your own private astronomer standing next to you. I’m used to my grandfather telling me where things are located. He’s always been into astronomy, he’s spent lord knows how much money on telescopes and other interesting gadgets so he could get a better look at the sky at night. He trucks it up to Maine with his friends once a year when they’re doing the children’s toy run. They spend a bit of time just laying in the grass looking up, there’s close to no light up there so the sky looks like nothing but sparkles at night.

Living in a highly populated area with a lot of ambient light, I never really believed that the sky could be over loaded with stars. Sean took me to some farm a few miles inland and I close to pee’d in excitement – I could see everything. The area we were in had us both on edge but if we could happen to find another field like it (which isn’t hard in Delaware considering it’s all freaking farm life here) I’d really like to go back and sit under the stars again.

You can’t see them very well from the beach, the lights along the board walk make it hard for you to really see anything at night. Sure, the waves calm me down but after that, there’s not much to look at – you know? I guess I’m just venting, I don’t know…could be that I’m feeling borderline depressed today for some reason.

Why Spy Sweeper is the way to go!

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

PPPAs many of you may know, my old desktop crashed a little while after Joe died. At first I thought it was because of the fact that he may have crashed his the night he died and wanted every computer he’s ever worked on to die, or it was a virus or spy ware attack that destroyed windows. Either way there was no fixing it. I tried everything I could in order to get things back up and running the way it was supposed to. It took me about 4 days just to remove all of the spy ware and it was all put on there because my sister decided to install some stupid download program that permitted EVERYTHING in, damn Kazaa! I had an overflow of pop ups, more installations of programs like bonsai buddy and other random crap that I could imagine. I was SO happy when I finally found some decent programs to start getting rid of it all.

I used many different programs but the only one that actually got the job done was Spy Sweeper. I bought the program about six months prior to my computer crashing. I’d been using a trial version for a while and decided to go ahead and purchase it. I was rather content with it so I figured purchasing it would be the best way to go.

I’ve used many other programs in the past but the only thing that ever worked for me was in fact Spy Sweeper. I will say, however, if you’re running on a system that naturally lags I wouldn’t recommend using it, it does eat up a lot of resources. But I’m basing this on older systems. Karen’s old computer was really crappy and had no resources to eat up, Spy Sweeper did keep a lot of extra things off it, but she did still need the new one. Now she’s got everything loaded up on the new desktop and thankfully with more ram and a better processor, Spy Sweeper runs PERFECTLY for her.
