Creative FUNK

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

Don’t you hate when things look better in your mind than they do in print? The template I’ve designed for my May theme came out exactly how I pictured it in my head. The problem is – it looks like crap. I think I may fix the logo up and just use it as a freebie or something because there’s really no point in using it for myself. I should probably do that with all of the templates I have saved on my hard drives. I could probably give 200 people unique templates at the rate that I scratch ideas.

I had a pretty busy day. I woke up to Baby asking me if I could throw a turkey in the oven for tonight, it’s been defrosting since last night. The problem is I got the bright idea to turn it into some big deal and basically made a thanksgiving dinner. I had all the fixin’s but since I go overboard on everything, it was overwhelming. Dinner went off without a hitch, or so I thought. Throughout the entire meal I had the itching feeling that I had forgotten something. It wasn’t until 4 hours later when I went to heat up some turkey for Bella that I realized the stuffing was just sitting there uncooked. So…at least I had some validation as to what I was missing. It sucks that I completely forgot about it but we were stuffed beyond belief anyway so I guess it didn’t matter too much. The extra carbohydrates probably would have put us over the edge anyway.

We went to the beach last night, I got to relax a bit even though it was drizzling. It felt like it was raining harder because of the wind but that didn’t matter too much. We decided not to go tonight because we both have a lot of work to do and we’re just too tired to travel considering the turkey and lack of sleep. It would help us with our concentration and since the rain has finished up it would make more sense to go than it did last night but that really doesn’t matter too much to us at the moment. It’s my goal to get some major sleep tonight and since it’s after 12:30, I guess that will be very soon.

For now I’m going to finish what I was doing and maybe get a few posts in or something, I’ll figure it out when it happens. I have to do some interview for <a href=”http://www.pjmommy.com/” target=”_blank” title=”PJMommy.com”>Jenny</a> and then I was selected for some Blog Celebrity thing so I guess I’ll see what that’s about. Who knows, maybe it’ll be something fun – heh.

Sluggish

Monday, April 16th, 2007

It’s been a pretty sluggish day. I’ve been working hard on returning comments (I’m very backed up). I stopped for a little bit to spend some quality time with the boyfriend and then took a much-needed shower. I don’t know if it’s the weather, or what, but even though I took a shower before I went to sleep last night, I woke up feeling absolutely disgusting for some reason.

I went to the beach with Baby last night before we went to bed. I know it was probably a stupid choice considering it was pouring but the waves were in the 10-12FT (4 Meters) range so I absolutely HAD to be on the beach to watch them. We stopped for our usual coffee at 7-11. The guy who works the over-night knows me pretty well at this point. He knows exactly what to give me once I get up to the register with my coffee and I have to love having someone like that serving me. I consider him to be my buddy, even though I don’t know his name – LOL.

Right now I’m flipping through channels and listening to all three dogs snore their little faces off. The three of them are under 20lbs (each) and manage to make more noise than baby does when he’s asleep and he can snore up a storm. I’ll just put my ear-plugs back in, there’s really nothing on TV anyway…there never usually is in the afternoon that’s of interest to me.

The flood-warning is still in effect for Kent and Sussex counties, a lot of rain has dropped on us. I know NY is getting it pretty bad right now but I’m not up there, I’m down here, so HMPH! Maybe I’ll bother Sean a bit and see how things are going in Rehoboth, he’s right on the water…must be NICE!

Miles + Sleep = Unproductive

Friday, April 13th, 2007

Minus a passing thunderstorm, it was fairly lovely today. Baby and I took an extremely long walk on the beach. We usually do a quick pass about halfway down the beach and work our way back but today we wound up in the next town to then turn around. It’s our goal to walk the entire strip (about 5 miles total) without our legs giving out on us. Some don’t realize how hard it is to walk on light sand. Sure, walking a long the shore is nice and all but sometimes you just want to be in the middle and dig through…works your legs out a lot more than just strolling along.

I wound up taking a nap after I got home. My legs were bothering me and by then the Midol had kicked in so I was just beat to begin with. Now I’m like wide-awake and even though I have a few more emails to go through – I’m just not in the mood to do them because I’d prefer to just lay down and attempt to go back to bed. It’s almost 3AM anyway, nothing really wrong with that – right? :eh:

Guess I’ll finish up the emails/comments. I’ll respond to everything soon – I know I have a lot to go through.

Time’s a wasting!

I have until the 14th to get my taxes in order. I have to make it a point to fill out the W2-G form because of the gambling winnings. I printed the forms last night but I have basically no idea how to go about doing it. I figure I’ll call Dad after he gets home from work later so I can straighten everything out. I should have gotten it done this weekend but I didn’t have much of a choice considering I had all the packing to do.

I made about $6700 and I only really have to file the federal form since everything was won in New Jersey (Atlantic City). I just hope I’ll be able to get everything in on time. Baby is going on Friday to get his done, they’re a bit more complicated than mine considering he’s got “On the books” income from two places. Guess I should call Dad now, he should be home.

Bootiful?

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

I finally fell asleep around 4:30 this morning. I don’t like staying up that late considering I’m usually out around midnight these days. I just couldn’t, for the life of me, wind down enough to get my head to hit the pillow and stay there. A little after 1am this morning a storm rolled through here. I didn’t hear anything as far as thunder is concerned but the rain was heavy enough to relax me. After about an hour of sitting outside and soaking it all in, I curled up in bed and went to sleep.

I woke up to a congratulatory squeak praising one of the other dogs in the house and Baby stomping around getting his clothes together for his laundry. I didn’t really think much about it though, I looked out the window and the sun was shining so I really didn’t care too much. It’s fairly warm out today, it’s only around 60?Ǭ?F(15?Ǭ?C) but that’s not a big deal, this is the ideal weather for me. Because of this, we’re going to the beach.

I haven’t been feeling very well for the last couple of days. Women issues have had me on a bit of bed rest because of excessive pain. Midol and any other pain reliever I can find just aren’t doing the work. I’m feeling a tad bit better today so hopefully things will really be good after I get back from the beach.

In any event, I’m gonna sign off so Baby can put my graphics card into the desktop. Gives me time to take a shower anyway.

Tryptophan

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

I know it was a little late but after a very long day of very hard work I decided to treat myself to a small turkey sandwich. Not until my last bite did I realize that it was going to mess me up for the rest of the night. Thanks to a lovely little chemical in turkey named tryptophan, I’m now extremely exhausted with about 2 hours worth of work remaining before I can call it a night.

I know people who aren’t effected by it at all, I consider them to be weird considering it’s effects more than 90% of the people who eat turkey. Quoting the boyfriend: “Thanksgiving is the #1 nap day of the year!” and if you’ve ever been around my family on a holiday then you know that’s the exact truth. Everyone in my family, even those who have married into it, are asleep before their stomaches even get the chance to settle the food once they walk away from the table. All of my uncles seem to fall asleep and they’re pretty YOUNG guys so you’d think they would have a bit more stamina to fight it. The women are always fine though, no one understands it. We can easily get everything done without any real effect to us at all, the men are usually snoring until someone says “Dessert”.

Tonight, however, it seems to be kicking my butt. I don’t quite understand why but I think it may have to do with my ‘crashing’ from all of the Crystal Light I drank today. Just because it’s “Sugar Free” doesn’t mean there isn’t a sugar substitute in there throwing a bunch of energy at you.

It’s expected to reach the mid 60’s tomorrow so I was hoping to go to the beach and do some walking, the best kind of work-out on your legs is walking along the sand. I’m lucky that there’s about a 2 mile strip of stand stretching across a few towns down on the shore so it makes it pretty interesting. Unfortunately there are quite a few thunderstorms heading this way so I don’t think I’ll be able to do it. The waves tomorrow night should be awesome considering the storm is moving off-shore but Baby and I have tried that already and it didn’t quite turn out to be a good idea. He owes me a cup of coffee anyway so maybe I can still talk him into it…:hmm:

I guess I should get back to work.

Shopping = UGH!

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

It’s a little after six and normally at this time we’re firing up the grill to throw on some burgers. Based on time constraints, however, we’re not going to be doing that tonight. We have to go to Happy Harry’s, Wal-Mart and then eventually wind up down at the beach for high tide. So I think tonight I may wind up having to break my diet for the sake of convenience. I could have easily popped some oatmeal bars but I’m running low, so of course this is another reason to take a trip to Wal-Mart.

I have to pick up some food for Bella, maybe a pair of sandals and I’ll have to load up on some Space Saver vacuum bag thingers. (Hopefully they have them) I only have one ‘extra large’ one, one large and then two roll-ups and I know I have a lot of shit to bring down here with me so it’ll be easier to just buy some more bags and load them up, this should be interesting…very interesting.

Since the boyfriend is throwing a hissy-fit about something, I’m gonna hop in the shower and get ready to go.

Fixed and Skunked?

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

I had to so some serious editing on a few content sections, thank you to April for pointing them out for me. I’ve been working my booty off getting some more stuff done with this client so thankfully I was able to get everything back in order.

I have about a half hour before I take my scheduled break, trust me I’m itching for it. There’s a rabid skunk floating around the community and it’s got everything smelling like HELL because it’s so warm out today. I seriously can’t wait until it’s caught so things can air out. If you smell one during the day you have to call animal control because it’s rabid. I don’t get why you can’t call animal control when you smell them ANYTIME considering how hard it is to get the stench out.

I was talking to the boyfriends mom the other day and she said that some guy had went to let his puppy out in the back-yard to do his business before he went to bed. Just as he got to the door he smelled a skunk and obviously didn’t let the dog out so he could make sure it wasn’t in the same yard. He caught a glimpse of it and saw that the skunk was playing with a ball that the puppy had left out there. You’d think skunks were dogs at the rate that they’re playing with toys around here…heh.

Ewe, I just saw the little bugger walk into the back yard, talk about stench.

The Push.

Friday, March 30th, 2007

I know I’ve made this push before but desperate times call for desperate measures. I’m currently SIX people away from the $1800 that I’ve been working on through nb4f.com. I don’t like pushing offers but I’ve been a member for almost two years so I think it’s time to finally get to the point of wrapping up this venture.

It’s really simple to get through the sign-up process.

You sign up under my referral.
Verify your account (via email)
Complete 1 Offer
Refer friends to do the same.

Now, it’s the option of getting $1800 or a laptop. Considering I already have a laptop it’s kind of pointless to take it, which is why I’m going for the $1800. This company DOES give you everything you’re asking for. I’ve been paid by them for three other offers so it’s not like your efforts will be wasted.

I have over 400 referrals and even though I only need 24 (total) to get my $1800, I still need SIX people.

If you’re interested in helping me out, I’ll send you either $10 via Paypal or you’ll be given The $30 Deal completely for free.

Once you’ve completed your offer, please just send an email to girl@krissy.nu letting me know, and we’ll go from there.

Serious participants only please.

Gone!

Friday, March 30th, 2007

After a long battle with AdBrite, I’ve finally taken everything down off EVERY site that houses their links. Their ads never worked and I log in today to find a few hundred pending advertisers that have all like…expired. They just showed up recently so I really don’t understand how that’s even possible. So in order to avoid annoyance and extra crap code in order to get everything to match properly. I’m now outside-ad free. I’ll stick to doing things my own way. Text links and banner ads by my own programs setup my own way.

I approved three pending ads for the 468×60 rotation so that was at least the bright side to my day. : ugh :

Bad Feelings…

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

I woke up this morning with a really bad feeling in my stomach. Usually when this happens I can just have a cig and my coffee and things will be fine again. That didn’t work this time, I have no idea what was going on with me…the pain has slowly subsided but it’s still there.

I think, in part, it has to do with a dream I had last night. The boyfriend’s aunt (D) hasn’t been feeling very well lately, she’s been passing out and doctors can’t seem to find out what’s wrong with her. Last night I had a dream that we’d driven up to New York to meet up with her in the ICU. She had tubes in her arm, oxygen clamped onto her nose and her coloring just didn’t look too good. Baby’s mom (K) had left the room for a few minutes to get some coffee because she just couldn’t handle seeing her sister like that. When she came back, she noticed that D was looking at the wall next to her and screaming “You’re not taking me!”. K and the boyfriend couldn’t see her but K’s mother (deceased) was standing there waiting for D to leave her body and come with her. To the other side of D was HER mother (also deceased) waiting very patiently. I’m the only one who saw them, which instantly had me freaked. Another thing that had me a bit dumbfounded was D’s husband (deceased) was standing there as well, waiting almost as patiently as D’s mother.

The doctors came in to take D to surgery, they were going to preform a triple bypass. All I know is I woke up instantly after she was no longer in sight. I’ve never really jolted out of bed that quickly before. It’s had me freaked all day.

Sunrise….Sunset

Monday, March 26th, 2007

It’s taken a while but I’m happy to announce that my ankle is now completely healed. The purple is gone, the swelling is gone, and the pain is literally out the window. Because of this, I’ve been able to do a lot more walking around which is why Baby and I have been spending a lot of time at the beach. We were there recently to watch the sun rise and because I’m a photography whore, I tend to bring my camera with me whenever we go to the beach. There’s something very calming about being on the shore during a sunrise, it wakes me up a lot more than my usual 24oz coffee with a dash of Irish Creamer.

March 2007, Beach Visit I think this picture really just gives you an idea of what I get to look at every morning. Now, until recently I wasn’t really a beach person but when you’re dealing with the Long Island Sound, you really could care less about when high-tide is going to drag in some nasty garbage that the sound is filled with. I know the Atlantic Ocean has some pretty dirty spots, especially along the shore but you still have an appreciation for it’s beauty, especially during sun-rise. The way the sky turns pink and yellow and then you over-look the blue ocean rolling in, it’s just gorgeous.

Baby and I really want to take a trip to California so that we can watch the sun set. I’ve heard that it’s absolutely beautiful so I truly can’t wait until we can see it. He’s also recommended going to Hawaii considering you can be on one side of the island to see the sun rise and then just travel to the other side of the island for the sun-set, I consider that one-stop-shopping, honestly…lol.

The Riches

Monday, March 12th, 2007

I just finished watching The Riches on FX and I have to say that it’s going to be one of my new favorite shows. A quick summary would basically be the following:

For Wayne and Dahlia Malloy, the road is home. As a family of travelers, life is all about the money – other peoples money – and steering clear of the law. They’ve raised their three children Cael, Didi and Sam in their old, beat up RV, teaching them the tricks of scamming trade, and to always take pride in conning greedy buffers (the traveler term for ordinary, law-abiding folk). But one blind curve in the road and a swerve of the RV later, the Malloy family finds themselves faced with the possibility of becoming buffers. Doug and Cherien Rich are now dead, driven off the road by the swerving Malloy RV. Dahlia feels guilt over the tragic accident. Wayne senses a golden opportunity.

For anyone who didn’t get to watch the show tonight, I strongly suggest you tune into FX on Saturday at 10 EST so you can see what you’re missing.

The hype has calmed though, tomorrow night is my usual Tuesday@10 line-up and I’ll be watching Dirt. I can’t wait until The Shield comes back. That’s just one step into Rescue Me and of course Nip/Tuck coming back on TV.

I’m an FX junkie!

Throbbing Pain

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

Sprained Ankle I’m not really that big on pictures but there are just some times when you have to give some kind of visual proof to what you’re about to say. This is my left ankle, this is what happens when you’re going down stairs and there’s uneven ground. It’s swollen to a little bit more than double the size and as you can tell, it’s a pretty shade of purple. I’m in an awful lot of pain and I’m surprised by this considering I normally have a high pain tolerance. Baby thinks that it’s gone past a bruise and is like ‘internal bleeding’…riiiight. This isn’t the first time I’ve done some major damage to my ankle though. I’m basically a sprained ankle junkie, freaky huh? I’ve broken both ankles, I’ve fallen down stairs (see a pattern here?) landing feet first and spraining both ankles at once. You can imagine my surprise when I landed on Tuesday and it was only the one ankle that was damaged. I felt it pop when I went down but figured I could walk it off. I can volunteerily crack both ankles by just twisting my foot a little so it didn’t phase me much.

A few hours later I noticed that it was getting hard for me to move around. At this point I’d been on the couch for a little while watching television so since I wasn’t standing up much, it didn’t phase me that my foot was still sore. I figured this was a given considering I’d fallen only a few hours prior. Once my foot touched the floor and flattened out I felt a shooting pain go clean up my leg…the likes of which I’ve never felt before. This scared me but I didn’t think much about it considering I’ve hurt myself before and have come through with flying colors. The next day before I went into the shower I looked at my foot and noticed it was a heavy shade of purple. Since then, I’ve been nursing and medicating the pain and hopefully my foot will go back to normal sometime over the course of the next couple of days.

Valentine’s Day
Baby and I went to Applebee’s last night and enjoyed ourselves at dinner. We watched a movie before we went to bed and I don’t know about him but I woke up feeling very refreshed. He got me a HUGE teddy bear and a box of chocolate. On Wednesday morning before we went to sleep (We don’t usually knock out until about 5:30AM) he put the bear in the bed with the candy and threw a blanket over it for me to find. I was pretty surprised, he was very sweet about it.

Closing time…
In any event, I think I’m going to head off for the night. My back is starting to bother me from sitting here too long. I think I’m going to hobble myself outside and have a cig.

Exhausted

Monday, January 15th, 2007

Things have been going pretty well for the last few days. The new computer arrived (in full) on Thursday. XP was installed and the ram was put in. The monitor is an absolutely GORGEOUS quality which makes me very happy. I haven’t had the chance to actually use it though. The boyfriend set it up for me and he had to do some work. After laying down for a little while I decided it would be best just not to be on it so I figure when I get home next week I’ll sit down and play with it. I need to load my external drive into it and then get to work on getting everything important onto it and then getting a lot of shit off my laptop. I need to figure out how to link Outlook express but I figured I’ll just leave everything email based on the laptop and then just use the desktop for programs that take up a lot of space like the Adobe Suite and what not.

I took Bella with me this time. Every time I come down here I wind up missing her after a few days so thankfully she did very well in the car and now she’s actually doing well in a house she’s not used to. There were a couple of little accidents but nothing too serious to worry about. It was mainly excitement based accidents. She’s laying down by the window right now…snoring her head off.

It’s been uncomfortably warm the past few days (considering it’s January for crying out loud!). I can’t wait until a cold front comes through and I can go back to not dying before I go to bed. Last night the boyfriend and I had quite a bit of trouble falling asleep because I was just too warm to get comfortable and I’m sure it was driving him crazy that I was moving around so much. Bella plopped herself down in the window and since there was a light breeze I assume that she was OK for the night.

In any event, I think I’m going to finish up with my email checks and then lay down for a little while. I (for a change) got a full 8 hours of sleep last night but for some reason I’m actually pretty tired tonight. Considering Bella’s snoring her head off…I figure I can easily just roll over without having to worry about her pouncing all over me to play.

Later all.

Doot Doot

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

I’ve been pretty busy for the last few days. I did want to update earlier but ehh…shit happens, right?

Cybertron I’m waiting (almost too patiently at this point) for my computer to get here. I kind of went all out on this one and it didn’t even cost me very much at all. I decided that with all the issues I’m having with my laptop…HP just wasn’t worth it anymore. I got myself a custom build from company named CybertronPC. By default it doesn’t come with a lot, but that’s OK because I’ve purchased more ram for it. It came with an 80GB hard drive, which I know doesn’t seem like much but I have an 80GB external hard drive as well as a 120GB drive from my last computer that will all be loaded in so I’m damn sure I’ll be set for space…you know? Later on down the road I’ll upgrade the ram, I figure if it’s mainly going to be used for graphics, as well as be running all the time as a network based server…I’ll need maybe 2 gigs instead of 1 so that’ll be OK. With this computer comes a new keyboard and mouse but considering I’m extremely happy with my old keyboard I’ll just use that one. I bought a new mouse from Logitech because I prefer their company when it comes to input devices. I also bought myself a 17″ LCD so I can still have enough room on my desk for my laptop whenever I happen to be using that. Everything is going to be networked so I can still get to my files from no matter what computer I’m on. After this weekend there will be four in the house. My sister got one for Christmas, the one that’s in the living room and then my two. Talk about PC nerds…eh? In total everything only ran me about $620 and I get about $80 back as far as Mail-in Rebates are concerned so I guess it wasn’t such a bad deal…right? I got the computer, ram, new mouse, mouse pad and monitor – not a bad deal at all!

I’ve been really busy cleaning for the last few days. I realized a few days after I bought the new computer that my desk was over-grown with useless papers and books. I also cleaned out my dresser as well as my closet. I managed to throw out quite a bit of clothing which is perfectly fine because I really needed to do it. It’s nice having practically nothing in there but it reminds me that I have some shopping to do sometime over the next couple of weeks. I’ll be going through Delaware to get to Maryland so I’m sure I’ll take advantage on the No Sales Tax aspect of things…he-he.

Other than cleaning I’ve been finishing up some accounts, gotta make money somehow. I’ve also managed to get the new template for AGn-Solutions up and running. I’m in the process of working on a new one for AGN-Designs because it’s been a while since I’ve done anything there and I have quite a few templates to add to the portfolio anyway. Hopefully I’ll be able to get the Templates section up and running so I can finally start selling the pre-made’s that have been sitting on my computer for the last six months.

In any event, it’s getting kind of late and since I know I’ll be up very early on Friday I’m going to be changing my sleep schedule over so I’m going to get myself ready for bed and hopefully if everything works out OK I’ll be knocked out by 2am, tomorrow it’s my goal to be knocked out by midnight and the same goes for Thursday this way I can be ready to leave the house by maybe 11:30 (at the latest) on Friday morning. :: crosses fingers::

I’ll return comments when I get the chance. I know I’m pretty behind on them, sorry guys.
