PICK THAT UP!

Monday, April 30th, 2007

After I vacuum, I get very bitchy about what can and can’t be on the floor. It annoys the hell out of me if someone comes walking through the living room dropping crumbs on the floor after I’d just spent a half hour cleaning the rugs. I know it sounds kind of stupid but I’m just agitated at the moment. We obviously haven’t left the house yet to bring Bella for a walk but that’s irrelevant right now because I just spent ten minutes picking up tiny little pieces of paper. Both Bella and Princess had a field day with a toilet paper roll and now there’s paper all over the living room. Thank god the roll was empty but I can’t wait until I do the final run through the house and dump all the garbage to be picked up tomorrow. If the bathroom were just a little bit bigger, I’d seriously consider getting a larger garbage pale.

Time to go bother baby and get all of this garbage out of here before we walk the dog. There’s no reason to keep coming back in and out of the house if we can just do it all in one swift move and get out of here for our walk. I need to get my shoes on anyway.

I don’t like lawyers…

Monday, April 30th, 2007

The one thing I hate the most is dealing with the court systems. I’ve had my fair-share of run-ins with court rooms, mainly because giving someone a free nose job is frowned upon – but that’s besides the point. Right now, my most recent dealing, is all because Baby’s father is a complete butt head.

Last week the doorbell rang and I found myself face-to-face with the mail man while holding back one of the dogs from ripping his ankle off. It was a registered letter, and not thinking twice about it – I went ahead and signed for it. I wasn’t aware that it came from his father until after I’d closed the door and pushed Princess back into her bed. After opening everything, baby instantly went crazy to find out that his father is suing his mother for things of which she has no control over. There were at least 100 pages worth of crap that he’d printed off line and sent in to the court house so who knows what’s really going on there, I just know that she’s been through three lawyers about it and none of them can help her out.

I wanted to find something for her because there’s no reason why she should do this all by herself. I did happen to come across longestlaw.com which is a site that specializes in getting you the right information about attorneys. It teaches you how to choose an attorney and where to find them. There are articles and daily resources about attorneys, us attorneys and tax attorney’s. It was kind of hard to read through everything because of all of the disorganization but what I could come across, nothing really stood out for me to help her out at the moment. There is a site map but the site is SO overrun with ads that it makes me look like I have no ads on my site at all, in comparison. Unfortunately there was nothing on this site that could help her out because she needs one in the Divorce/Children’s Law area so I had to continue my search elsewhere. She hopes to have everything done within the next couple of days, and because of how the letter showed up she doesn’t even know if he actually filed any of this with the courts yet.

There’s just a lot of phone calls to be made, and a lot of people to deal with – this isn’t going to be fun at all.

HGTV Rules

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

Instead of killing myself in the dining room, I’ve kind of shifted to the couch in the living room. I don’t typically like working off my battery but that’s because I no longer have bright view when I’m not plugged in. Considering how bright it is in the room, I’m not overly concerned.

Once I sat on the couch, Princess decided that she was lonely on the other end and waddled her way over here. She’s now on my lap and the two of us are watching HGTV. There’s a show where they basically remodel a room for little to no money at all. I can’t think of the name, but I think it’s pretty cool. They look for items around your house to bring into the room so you can pull it all together. I can walk around the house right now and instantly come across ideas for how to make the living room it’s own ‘unique’ area, other than just two chairs and a couch facing the TV.

They just pulled a huge painting out of this womens attic that’s gorgeous. I wish I brought all of my paint supplies down here, I have a pretty nifty idea for art work in the bedroom after we get everything remodeled. He’s got some wizard on the wall, and Yoda, sorry but those don’t fly well with me – they can be moved to the office.. :heh:

Doggie Horoscopes!

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

PPP As many of you may know, I consider Bella to be my absolute pride and joy. For the past three years she’s brought me nothing but happiness and I couldn’t ask for anything more in a dog. People have gone, for quite some time, believing in astrological and zodiac signs. What I wasn’t aware of, at all, was that there are actually dog horoscopes. How freaky is that?

Bella was born on February 2nd, which makes her an Aquarius. Her horoscope for the month:

AQUARIUS – Your pets are very restless this month. They are excited and want new things to happen. They will pester you to pay attention and play with them. They can be a little annoying in their quest to have some fun. Try to be patient and do what you can to keep them entertained. Playing outside now can be very helpful, especially with spring here.

The pretty funny thing is that she’s been like this for the last couple of weeks. She’s been persistant with wanting to be outside and hasn’t really cut me a break as far as wanting attention is concerned.

Her actual sign break down is:

AQUARIUS – This little pet will bring home every other pet in the neighborhood. They love everyone and everything. Once they get the new friends home, it is up to you to entertain them and keep them. They have done their job when they bring in strays. Now you fix them up.

When they are not busy with other pets, they can do very, very strange things. These are the pets of the weird and unusual. Just when you think they are going to do one thing, they change their mind and behave totally differently. Never one for routine, these little guys change their behavior for the fun of it. Where Capricorns were great in school, these guys will defy anything that looks like restrictions, school or anything that might impede their freedom. Don’t keep them restricted too long or they might find the need to leave you and find freedom in the world.

Don’t cuddle and pet them too much for they really don’t like too much closeness. They need their freedom to be the unusual pet they are. Not one for being bored, they will stir up trouble just to see what will happen.

Don’t ever feed them the same thing twice. They will let you know when you have crossed that line and will become very disapproving when you do something that you have done before. Unusual and different are their key words. Being another Air sign they are talkers and very verbal. Look for them to be barkers and pets that express their needs all the time.

This one I’m not too sure about, she’s kind of a cuddler by default but her actions with other dogs is kind of strange. When it comes to the two other dogs in the house she’s kind of the baby-sister/brat of the house. She’ll pick on Candy and she’ll knock Princess over without any real care in the world. She’ll dive from higher places (the couch, chairs, etc) and land right on top of her. Baby thinks she grew up watching WWF Raw, which is strange considering I’ve never even watched anything in relation to the WWF…lol.

So maybe you should all take a gander at these sites and learn some more about your furry friends.

Just a busy day!

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

I was finally able to fall asleep around 6:30 this morning. I literally stared at the ceiling for an hour after I crawled into bed. I was then woken up about 11:30 this morning by a very loud crack of thunder, a scared dog and a boyfriend wanting to let me know that there’s a storm outside (if I hadn’t already heard it).

Within two seconds of him opening the door I felt another dog hop up on the bed, Princess was scared and hiding in the office under my desk. Now she’s sleeping next to me and doesn’t seem to want to leave the room for anything. The storm’s been done for the last few hours, it’s about 3 so you can imagine how much fun it’s been.

I watched TV for a little while, it’s nice to just be able to relax in bed for a little bit before you start work. While flipping through channels I came across that movie “Good Burger” with Keenan & Kel, I haven’t seen it in years so I figured I’d just leave it on and go from there. It’s the typical Nickelodeon kind of movie but it was also kind of amusing considering I’d just woken up. Usually when dealing that kind of stupidity just as I get out of bed really bothers me but I assume today was an exception.

I got quite a bit of work done, I sent out a few emails and now I’m sitting here watching MPT because they have a block of shows dubbed “Afternoon Tea” it’s all English comedy that keeps me pretty entertained. I’m seriously a sucker for “Are you being served?” it’s probably one of my favorite shows at the moment. I know it’s been almost 30 years since the show went off the air but it’s worth it.

I’m home alone at the moment. Baby went out to run some errands, I need to take a shower because we’re going out around six to get some other things done. We need to drive down to Georgetown to go to the DMV and on the way home we’re going to head to the Super Wal-Mart and do some shopping. They have cheaper meat there considering Wal-Mart is part of Sam’s Club. Since we’ve been doing so much barbecuing lately there’s really no choice in the matter but to load up on things.

It’s now 3 days before we load into the car and head up to New York, I’m kind of nervous because I haven’t been home in a long time and the only reason for my going up there is to basically pack up the rest of my things and say goodbye to everything I’ve ever known. It’s not like I’m never going back to NY, that’s not the issue. I’ll be back up in June for Dad’s birthday, November & December for holidays and maybe just random trips up to visit. I told Dad that if he was going to Atlantic City or something to let me know. I’m only about a half hour away from it so it’s not like it would be hard to get there for a visit.

I have a lot of shit to do up in NY though, it’s literally going to take me the whole weekend. I have to go through twenty-two years worth of things and compact it down to just a few boxes and space bags. I don’t want to leave things up there that I use regularly so those will be easy to pick out. I know I have to do a lot of junk-clean outs though. I admit to being a pack rat when it comes to sentimental value but I know that I can handle working that out. But once everything is loaded into the van I have to stop at WAMU and close my bank account because there isn’t one down here, then I have to head to the post office and forward all of my mail. Once I get back down here I’ll probably go to either PNC or even Wilmington Trust and open a bank account. Both banks are not even two minutes away from where I am so I’m not too concerned about location, that’s really the only reason I went with WAMU in the first place – it was a hop, skip and a jump away from my house.

I need to finish making my ‘packing’ list and then get myself in the shower, guess it’s time to head off now.
