Virtual Sand Castles

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

PPPWhen it comes to birthdays and holidays and I know I’m not going to be around, I typically enjoy sending e-cards to friends and family. Yes, the bulk of the time some may find these cards to be annoying but my family sends them back and forth to each other excessively so naturally I’m always looking for a new and better site to send the cards from, that’s when I came across virtualsandcastle.com. Yes, you can literally build and send Sandcastles to your family and friends on their special day – cool huh?

Happy B-Day MoMo I played around with the site for a little while, yes it’s completely free, you even get to play with a beach-ball while it’s saving. It’s really simple, you select the “Build a Sandcastle” icon and then start playing around with the different designs, changing the colors, adding accessories and a plethora of other options. Once you’ve gotten it to where you want it, you go ahead and click on the save icon and then while it’s capturing the image you’ve created, you can bounce a ball around with your mouse to keep you entertained. I thought it was a lot of fun, it’s a very simple process though. You can choose to save it as a wallpaper, send it to a friend, or just disregard it and move on. I saved it as a wallpaper. It’s a little bit pixellized for my taste but either way I’ll send her the link and have her play around with it for a little while.

Maybe you can have some fun with it as well, just head over to virtualsandcastle.com.

Shrinkage isn’t so bad…

Many women are unhappy with themselves, there isn’t one perfect body out there and even the close-to-perfect ones wish they could have something more. A big topic for women is the size of their chest. Some find them too small, others too large and either way some form of breast augmentation would make them feel better about themselves.

I don’t personally have a problem with my chest. This, however, is based on the fact that the rest of my family was cursed with large chests and bad backs. My sister is pushing a double-d, and by the end of the day she can barely stand. My grandmother and aunts all have issues with their backs as well. No one in the family is under a large-c cup, and yes it can be very annoying. I’m lucky enough to be the small one of the bunch, a c-cup is just about as large as I need to go. Holiday meals are rather interesting. The women have to sit further back in their chairs just so they aren’t falling into their plates.

So when I see sites like Los Angeles breast augmentation and Beverly Hills breast augmentation, I can’t help but wonder if I should throw some cash together and load up on gift packages…maybe I’ll throw in some botox or something…heh.

I’m gunna get you!

One of my servers is acting up and I’m not quite sure as to why. Whenever I ping the IP address, or even just a domain name in general, it tells me that everything is up and running fine. Loading said IP or domain in the browser, however, tells me something completely different. I wish I could figure out why it was doing this but I’ve got Tony working on it so this shouldn’t be much of an issue for very long.

I’m still awake, obviously, I wanted to be asleep about 3 hours ago so my still being awake now is taking it’s toll on me. There was a pretty huge water fight in the kitchen tonight. Karen went after Sean with a water gun and then the rest is basically history. He was soaked, went to change and then she stood right outside the door and managed to get him again. I was amused and then hid on the couch with Princess and Bella to stay out of the cross fire but that didn’t work out very well, Sean still got me. Karen was hosed down from head to toe and Sean was almost beaten because of it. Don’t mess with a womans hair, that’s all I have to say. She just showered too so she wasn’t a happy camper heh. Either way it was fun, we’ll have water balloons tomorrow, gotta love the dollar store! 100 for $1. SCORE!

Fathers Day Fast Approaching

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

With Fathers Day fast approaching, I’m confused as to what I’m going to get him. Sure, there’s always the typical Fathers Day Baskets but I’ve done those so many times that I feel sort of repetitive with it. Another thing that needs to be factored in is my fathers BIRTHDAY is the following Tuesday so I either need to do a large gift that will cover both in one shot or two little gifts, either way I’m stuck for ideas.

I came across gourmetgiftbaskets.com not too long ago and while I like what they have to offer, I don’t know if my father actually would. Now he appreciates everything, don’t get me wrong, he’s on a diet at the moment though so I’m not sure if sweets are really the way to go for me. I know he’s into meats and cheeses but considering his diet, not sure he’d take to it quite well either. I certainly couldn’t get him any candy, though he’s a fan of trail mix at the moment considering he’s eating it all in moderation. He’s lost about 15-20lbs and is starting to get himself back towards his college weight, that seems like so long ago but he was happier back then, so were his back, neck, shoulders and legs.

I did find a lot of their other baskets to be rather interesting though. They’ve got these cool beer baskets with all different kinds of goodies in there. There are also theme baskets and any other kind of basket that you can really think of. They’re a bit on the pricey side, then again the one I figured would be perfect for dad is in the $150 range and that’s just my personal taste. They also have baskets in the $70 range and considering they overload them with tons of nifty gifts, it’s worth the price. I found a couple in there for Baby but we’ve got other plans for our anniversary anyway, no reason to spend all the money on a gift basket containing food he’d probably never touch (very, very picky eater), we’ll stick to our vacation plans.

At the end of the month I’m going up to New York to visit dad and my sister for their birthdays. I guess I should start getting some baskets together now, shouldn’t I?

Shopping with limited time.

Sunday, May 20th, 2007

I have a few birthday’s coming up that I need to shop for, it’s really got me in a rush to get some money together. A few of them aren’t really that important to me so a few cheap gifts is really as far as they’re going to go. The rest, however, require a little bit of work. Kay’s birthday is the beginning of June, my father’s birthday is towards the end of June and my sister’s is only three days after his. I know in order to get things together for them I’m going to have to save up about $600. I figure $200 each, at most, is pretty reasonable. I tend to go overboard on things so that’s where that price tag came from. I also have to factor in that a few weeks later is my anniversary so I have to look into two gift ideas for men and then even more ideas for the two women. I was thinking of getting Baby one of those cool Digital picture frames like I spoke about a few weeks ago but he doesn’t take as many pictures these days as he used to. I don’t really know what to do.

I came across designergifts.com, it’s a new gift store from onlinestores.com which is a leading online retailer with several other stores. There’s a lot of different kinds of gifts available. Gifts for men, women, children and babies. There are even seasonal items and regular birthday gifts. They’ve got low prices and equally low shipping costs. Any order over $75 is free shipping, which I think is pretty cool. The site’s also pretty easy to navigate around as well.

It’s unfortunate

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

Going into my vacation this weekend, there was a preexisting feeling of sadness. This past week I found out that my grandfather has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. He’s going through testing, procedures and many other things that one couldn’t imagine. It’s hard when things like this happen. I lost my grandmother to breast cancer about 12 years ago (fathers mother), my other grandmother (mothers mother) has gone through extensive surgeries on her legs, to the point that the doctor nicked a nerve and that’s a long going lawsuit fallen upon a woman who can barely walk. My mother has been through a triple bypass surgery, my father has come home with so many staples in his head from work-related accidents that it’s just unreal – even this past weekend he’d torn some shin muscle making it hard for him to walk around the casino. It’s just a whole series of events that I can’t seem to piece together.

I’ve been very sick for the last couple of days and part of me wonders if stress played a factor in this. I come home after losing money to find that Bella is hurt, I was already exhausted and depressed because of it so now it’s just a series of crap all piling up on top of each other. Tonight I hobbled myself into Wal-mart so I could buy some replacement shades for the ones Bella has damaged over the last couple of weeks. She likes sitting in the window and has proven (three times over) that she’ll do anything to get up there. I probably should take a picture of the damage she did to the rug while we were gone as well.

However, I realized today that wasn’t entirely her fault. A few weeks ago Baby seemed to be on a mission to find something and decided to cut a section of the rug to look underneath (I don’t know why, I also refused to ask). That strip happened to be right outside the bedroom door which made it easy for her to pull the rug back. Because of the she was able to easily destroy it. So right now the blame is basically on the two of them. Either way she’s no longer limping and he still won’t take any blame what-so-ever for the fact that I’m extremely ill.

I’m working on linking Thunderbird from my external hard drive, this way I can run the same email off both the desktop and the laptop. I’m sick of sitting in the office listening to Halo3 Beta gunshots and him yammering into the microphone with people he doesn’t even know…heh. I never understood the gaming world, oh well.

Off I go.

Atlantic City – Here I come!

Saturday, May 12th, 2007

I woke up about 6am so that I could get myself ready to hop on the Cape May/Lewes Ferry at it’s 9am departure towards Cape May. After that I’ll be spending about an hour in the car and stopping at the beautiful Harrah’s Hotel & Casino. Baby and I are both excited because this is one of our first real vacations together. I set myself up in the Bayview tower, which is the new one that they were building the last time I went to A.C., I hear it’s actually pretty gorgeous inside so I’m anticipating it. It’ll be nice to sleep in a bed that doesn’t kill my back, I’ll tell you now that even if I don’t win any substantial amount of money as I did last time, just sleeping on a good mattress for a few nights will be completely worth it.

Dad will make his appearence around 3pm. I have to make it a point to be by the doors around that time so hopefully I’ll be able to find my watch, I’ve been searching for it all morning (Update: Found it, w00t!).

I still have a few things to do around the house, there’s about an hour left before we leave and I need to get the bedroom in order for Bella because she’ll be locked in there until tomorrow evening. Baby’s mom is going to make it a point to let her out for us on Sunday so that she isn’t cooped up in the room the whole weekend. I just need to throw some extra food and water down and then I’m sure she’ll be fine.

It’s going to be a litte bit difficult to stick to diets this weekend but I also know that each floor in Bayview towers is about 1/4 mile, so I may wind up walking the halls for a little while to get in my solid 4 miles a day. I know I’ll be doing a lot of walking around the casino but that’s mainly stop and go kind of walking, nothing consecutive.

Once my father meets up with us we’re probably going to head to Showboat and Caesar’s, I have quite a few comps to cash in on. I’m actually going to have to travel around for all three days based on all of the comps I have. There’s 3 to be done today, a few for Sunday and then probably 4 or 5 to be played on Monday before we start the long drive back home. I would have liked to take the ferry home, especially considering the moon rise, but then we’d have to leave around 5PM and if anyone has been on the Garden State Parkway at rush hour then you can understand my wanting to wait. We’ll just have to do our 2 hours in the car down the Jersey Turnpike – that should be HEAPS of fun…I swear.

In any event, I should get my butt in gear. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. It’s supposed to be some gorgeous weather for the next few days so hopefully you can all get out in the sun and soak up some vitamin D!

I’m extremely excited, I really hope that I have good news to come home and share.

Six Days!

Sunday, May 6th, 2007

Atlantic City is six days away and I’m nervous because I’m sure I won’t win as well as I did the last time but I get to spend some much needed time with my father so it’ll even itself out. I have to remind myself that I have to call him to bring a few books down with him that I left at the house. I can’t believe I actually moved 3 states away with out my damn cook books. What was I thinking?

I did fairly well today as far as dieting is concerned. I stuck to it as much as I could, I did chug down some lemonade but that was at a moment of complete weakness and the rush of sugar kind of made my head spin. I’ve been drinking crystal light for so long that I almost forgot what sugar tasted like. I won’t make that mistake again though, that’s for sure. I’m working on getting baby into this too but he’s so set in his ways that I don’t know if it’s going to work. I guess if I keep pushing him, something will happen.

A few very busy days of work coming up for me, I’m psyched about it because that means more money to play with in A.C., Yep…I’m addicted but not to the point of wiping my life savings. I’ll go up there with the $1,000 goal I gave myself and just enjoy everything I can. I just hope I hit to big pots the way I did the first time ::Crosses Fingers::

7 Days!

Saturday, May 5th, 2007

Atlantic City is coming up a lot sooner than I’d thought. It’s already May 5th and we’re leaving on the 12th. I’m excited, I really can’t wait for it. It’ll be nice to spend quality time with the boyfriend but it’ll be even more nice to see my Dad. He’s got a few vacation days to cash in on and when I told him to meet me in Atlantic City (midway point) he jumped on the opportunity. I’m sure it’ll be a lot of fun, I’ve only ever been there with my aunt so it’ll be nice to see how he interacts in a larger environment. I’ve gone to Mohegan Sun with him, Atlantic City is MUCH larger though. Many casinos, lots of nice shopping and plenty of cool people to talk to while you’re floating around the slots. Kay also gets the chance to meet my dad so this should also be rather interesting…heh. Yea, I know; Baby and I are living together and our parents haven’t met – we’re also adults so it’s not that big of an “OH NO!” so :pfft:

Baby hasn’t ever been to a casino, well…not until recently when we went up to Dover Downs and lost $60 in about a half hour. I’m sure that’s got him feeling pretty timid about going but he also knows how important it is for me to see my father so hopefully he’ll be able to enjoy himself.

It’s going to be a time crunch though, I need to be out of here by 8AM so we can drive up to Lewes and catch the 9AM ferry to Cape May, then it’s about a half hours drive north to get to A.C. I just need to check-in by noon or I’m at risk for being charged for my compt rooms. Usually I wouldn’t be so “ehh” about it, it’s just going to be a weekend so even with a reservation it’s good to get there early. There are people who show up last minute and bribe their way in. If there’s enough people doing it, they’d charge you to hold the room.

Early bird gets the worm, you know?

Lasik Surgery

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

Over the course of the last few years, my father’s eye sight has dramatically decreased. He claims it’s just old age, but for the past two years he’s had to upgrade his prescription quite a few times. He’s not going blind, he just can’t seem to focus his eyes. First he was far sighted, now he can’t see that either. I’ve recommended, a few times actually, that he look into Lasik but unfortunately his insurance doesn’t cover it. I’ve heard that the procedure works very well, but it’s not that cheap either. If it’s worth it, in the end, however – I think he should go for it. But hey…that’s just my take on it.

Baby has eye problems as well. While I think he’s hansom with or without his glasses, I think that looking towards a life without them, considering I’m sure his eye problems are 100% fixable with this surgery, he should consider looking into it. He doesn’t hate his glasses, I know this. But by the end of the day he can’t wait to get them off his face so his head can hit the pillow and he can drift off into a dream world.

After doing some research I found that USAEyes.org concluded that, after Lasik, 90% of patients achieved 20/40 vision or better ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú good enough to drive without glasses ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú and 65% achieved 20/20 vision, after a review of US Food and Drug Administration clinical trials, peer-reviewed data, and individual patient outcomes.

If you can improve your vision by that much, why aren’t more people getting it done?

Moving from Memories

Friday, March 30th, 2007

PPPPPP Have you ever hung out around the house with your buddies and wound up getting into a random home game packages that allowed any given game of cards? I can remember spending quite some time in my friends dining room in high school. We would pull out the snacks, cards and poker chips and start playing Texas Hold’em and standard 3 Card Poker. Two were always into Blackjack but unfortunately I wasn’t a huge fan of it.

Moving ahead a few years, your friends have long since moved on with their own lives. You no longer have any idea on what’s going on with them because, while the memory is still there, you no longer speak to each other. It was always comforting to know that Wednesday was “Our Night”. Even if we weren’t playing poker we weren’t far from having fun. There were always other card games, board games and stupid games that we made up that made no sense at all. Everyone remembers playing Quarters, we put a different twist on it for the “least amount of damage”. This was important though, one was a guitar player who needed his hands…the other a football star that did enough damage in practice. We never drank, we never ‘smoked up’, we prided ourselves on this. The guitar player is traveling the US, the football star is playing at Notre Dam and you’re three states away with no connection to your past other than the memories that randomly haunt you enough to put you into a random funk because you spend too much time thinking about it.

You’re never going to be playing Texas Hold’em with these people again. You’re never going to watch from the sidelines while they go nuts during Blackjack. The memories will always be there but you know that since things will never be the same, the best thing to do will be to move on with your life and close the chapter. No more games, no more new memories to be made. Just closing the book and working on a new one.

Happy New Year!

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

Just wanted to leave a note for everyone!

Happy New Year!

I’m spending the evening with the boyfriend. We’re going to dinner, heading over to my aunts for a little while to wish everyone a Happy New Year and then we’re heading over to his aunts house for a New Year’s Eve party. So I’ve got a pretty busy day ahead of me.

I’ve been working – a lot – over the course of the last couple of days. Quite a few clients emailed me and requested New Years launches on their websites. Of course most of the emails came in on Friday. Talk about cutting it close, right? Thankfully I was able to get everything done. I’m still working on two accounts though. I’m getting the non-profit site up for Alicia’s fiance and I’m working on a WordPress template for another client that I most likely won’t have done until Tuesday afternoon. I don’t want to take that long but I just won’t have any time for it over the course of the next couple of days. I did about 4 hours of work with it today, I have maybe 4 more hours to go. I’m leaving in a half hour though so I can’t really get much work done now, unfortunately.

In any event, I need to take a shower and get myself ready to go. I hope everyone has a safe New Year, lay off on the booze if you know you’re driving home, eh?

Merry Christmas!

Monday, December 25th, 2006

A little note for everyone celebrating this special day!

Mohegan Sun Here I Come!

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

It’s been a pretty busy weekend. I’m going through boyfriend withdrawal after spending over a week and a half with him, but I’ll see him soon. I got quite a bit of work done but I’m still behind on emails right now, so for those of you whom have been emailing me up the wazoo with questions and what not, please do not take offense. I’ve just gotten the agn-solutions based emails under control. I’ll slowly get through my Gmail account as the night dies down. I can’t promise anything though.

I spent quite a bit of time today downloading albums. Yay for .iso! I got myself about 12 albums (total) by 4 different bands so I guess the car ride tomorrow won’t be a total snooze fest. It’s hard rebuilding my iPod to what it once was but I guess it’ll happen at some point. I used to have around 18 gigs, and then I formatted it because of some funky error showing up and since iTunes doesn’t allow you to download the songs I had to lose everything. I tried iPod Ripper but it didn’t work the way it was supposed to. Now I’m 3GB into the 18GB I used to have. I guess that counts for something…right?

In other news, my aunt is coming with dad and I to Mohegan tomorrow so it’ll be a fun family casino day. I have some money saved up for it thanks to birthday cards and whatever was in my bank account that’s perishable funds. I should have more than enough to keep me happy. I figure if I can double my money I’m pretty good. I’m going up with $200 so if I come home with $400 I’ll consider it to be a very good day. We’re leaving around 10am and I’m making it a point to be knocked out by midnight tonight so I can wake up early enough to shower, walk the dog, and chug a pot of coffee so I can stay awake all day for the ever-so-fun slot machines. I’m not a table person so I’ll be in one of the ‘louder’ sections of the casino. We’ll see what happens.

I was going to take a shower tonight to do my hair but considering my hair is still wet from this afternoon’s shower I’ll just blow it out and then run a brush through it tomorrow. Or by the time I’m done writing up this post I’ll have said “Fuck It” and just take one tomorrow and do my usual messy pony tail thinger. Yea…thinger…is like my word of the week. The boyfriend’s word of the week was Blasphemy and he connected it to like…everything. It’s hot when he uses $2 words…yep…I said it.

So I’m sitting in the kitchen and from the top of my monitor I notice the chair in the living room is moving quite a bit. Knowing that Maureen is asleep (she goes to work at midnight) I figure “Okay…we’re haunted” until I see a fluffy tail shaking around. Bella is staring right at me through the hole on the arm of the chair and is now back to hopping up and down off the chair. Everyone loves a fluffy pest…don’t they?

In any event, I’m going to get to that email and then get myself ready for bed.

The Life Updates

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

I’ve gotten a few emails over the last few weeks asking where I’ve been and why I haven’t been around. My only real answer to these questions is the fact that I’ve just been too busy to care about signing onto AIM and listening to people bitch and moan about every little thing. Yes, not all of you do this, nor am I singling anyone out with this.

The past 6 months have been extremely hard on me and very few people understand this. My main focus in life right now is work. I have valid reasoning behind this though. The only way to get out of a shitty situation is to tough it out for as long as you can and scrape and save everywhere you can. By the time I’m done saving up all the money I need I’ll be moving out of here. Right now, however, my plans have seriously been delayed.

After talking to a rep from Penn Foster College I’m now going full speed ahead with four associates degrees. They are:

– Graphics Design
– Internet Technology w/ an Option in E-Commerce Administration
– Internet Technology w/ an Option in Multimedia and Design
– Internet Technology w/ an Option in Web Programming

There are a few job offers that have been kicked my way over the course of the last two years that I’ve had to turn down because I do not have a degree in anything that I currently do. Each semester for these courses is around $900, there are four semesters for each course as well. In total for each semester and each course factored in, I need about $16,000. Oddly enough this is still cheaper than ONE year at Briarcliff and I can get everything that I’ve wanted in the process.

I’m balancing clients, I’m tutoring and I’m also working on a part time job at a local store. With this I’ll also be looking into Financial Aid and Student Loans. By the time everything has worked itself out I hope to have about $20,000. This will cover school and some ‘fixing’ around my room. I’m going to purchase a new desktop which will only run me about $750 and then upgrade my desk so that I have a lot more surface area to work on. So yea, that’s why I’ve been busy…sue me.

The block party on Saturday turned out fairly well. The family met the boyfriend and things went well. I had a little bit more to drink than I thought I was going to but I was completely coherent so I guess that doesn’t matter very much. I spent the weekend with the boyfriend because I missed him and he stayed here over night on Saturday. I didn’t get much sleep because we went out to breakfast and then I met his family. His aunt is really awesome though so I had a good time. That basically covered my weekend.

By Monday it was ‘back to work’ for me though. I’ve been busy ever since. On Tuesday, I brought Bella to the groomer, she’s no longer a big fur ball, she’s down to a skinny little shit that takes up a lot less room than she did before. I think I got about 3 hours of sleep on Monday night so bringing her to the groomer EARLY Tuesday morning wasn’t fun. For some reason, however, last night I completely crashed at 3 and didn’t wake up until 2 this afternoon which is screwing me up because I’ve lost a good half of days work that I had to very quickly make up.

I logged into my Digital Camera account with Freepay yesterday to find that they’ve FINALLY updated my status. My order has been placed with the Vendor and I’ll soon receive shipping information when everything has gone through. Considering how long it took them to send me the camera I’m damn sure that when it does actually show up, something will be broken on it. To refresh memories, I’m getting the Olympus SP-350, so I’m sure I’ll have pictures when it shows up. I know that Freepay is a legit company but I’m still not going to recommend that anyone looking for free stuff goes through them. The only ‘freebie’ company that I’ll ever recommend to anyone is Offer Centric.

October is going to be a busy birthday month for me. I’m going to be taking a week’s vacation with the boyfriend and then the following week I’m going up to the Casino with my father for my birthday. Maybe I’ll get lucky on a couple slot machines and won’t need to get a student loan so I don’t have to worry about paying back the interest heh.

In any event, there was my long drawn out ‘personal post’. Don’t expect to see another one for quite some time out of me.

When you give up…it shows up.

Tuesday, June 27th, 2006

I didn’t really want to update until Saturday when I put up the new theme, but I have exciting news that I believe just can’t wait.

For the past month and a half I’ve been waiting for Freepay to process my approval form for the Digitial Camera. I’ve logged in every day and haven’t seen the status change. BUT – TODAY it finally did.

Freepay

I jumped up and down and instantly sent a screen shot to anyone who was online. Christie, Heather, Stacey, Tom, Stick Boy, and Sean. The one person I wanted to send it to was Jackie but she’s currently on her way to New Jersey for a wedding. I already knew my choice though, the Olympus SP-350 · 8 Megapixel camera. The reason is because it looks more like an SLR than the rest of the cameras to choose from. It’s also got better stats than the Fuji 9mpxl that was on the site. Not to mention, it’s just nice looking too.

Freepay

It takes approximately 7-10 business days to process and then 3-5 to ship. I’m going to assume that I won’t have it until sometime after I’m at my aunts house, so that’s ok. It would have been nice to use her house as my first pictures but I’ll get over it.

Dad’s currently in Atlantic City, he left early Sunday morning and I’m going to assume that he’s on his way back up here now considering he has work tomorrow morning. When he called on Sunday he said he was up and very happy. When I called him on Monday to wish him a Happy Birthday he was down, which is typically how it happens for my family anyway. He saved enough to tell me that he was getting a new vanity for the bathroom this week.

I did my planting on Saturday, it was pouring but that didn’t make it any less fun. The kids helped me out, I do have a picture of the ‘after’ but I don’t have any pictures of the process. It was raining too hard to have anything electronic out here. Sure we were under the awning but it was windy so it would have gotten soaked anyway. Thankfully, with all the rain everything was watered so I’m pretty happy with that. They’re already starting to bud so hopefully in a few weeks I’ll see some flowers show up. I can’t wait.

BUT while we were planting dad noted that there needs to be some kind of gravel in the bottom to keep the soil from draining out of the holes. I figured “Okay…I’ll just use what’s left from the fish tank”. Unfortunately, that tank was thrown out, along with all of the gravel. Then I realized that since mom was such a pack rat, there was still some tile left over from when she redid the tile in the bathroom like 10 years ago. So I went into the bathroom, opened up the cabinet, found the tile and then saw it was covered in mold. I made Dad get it out so he could see just what kind of crap we’re dealing with in there. It then convinced him to get a new one. So, I’ll be going to Home Depot sometime soon to pick out the one I want.

On the 7th to the 14th, I’m going to be at my aunts house. I’ll have my laptop with me, so I can still work. She’s going to Vegas because one of her friends has a time share or something out there, I’m not sure what it is. I just know that the room is free for the week so her and some friends are hopping on that opportunity.

Normally when I’m house sitting I’d have Joe over, so it’s going to be a pretty rough week for me. I’m slowly beginning to get over his death, because I know he’s in a better place away from the doctors and all of the disease that over ran his body for many years, that doesn’t mean I still don’t miss him just the same. I just want to pick up the phone and call him to say “Come on over!” but I can’t anymore and reality is finally starting to kick in for me and I know that I have to let it go. It’s not easy, but over time I’d assume that I’ll be ok.

Work Related
I’m trying to pick up as many jobs as possible but it’s taking a little more time than I would have liked. No one has really shown total interest in the $30 deal. I’ve gotten a few emails about it, but no return emails about going through with it fully. I’m hoping something will pick up soon though, this way I have money set aside for the BBQ.

BBQ
At this point though, I’m not sure if it’s going to happen to the scale that I’d like it to so I haven’t said much about it. My goal is to have it sometime around the 22nd but depending on financial status it may be pushed to a week or two later. I do still want to have it, I’d love to see Christie and Heather in one big group setting but I guess I’ll just have to see what happens there.

Code Guru
I’ve had a very productive week though. I re-did a few of my cliques and I also put the final touches on my July theme. After doing some reading, thanks to the links Sean sent me. I was able to find out why my style sheets would validated but had warnings. I’ve managed to now master CSS2 so there are absolutely no warnings on any of my style sheets and that’s something I’m very happy about. I almost changed the theme to XHTML Strict so that I could be super elite but I realized that since I have to link my banner rotations in an I-frame (for some god forsaken reason) that the theme wouldn’t validate to strict so I guess I’ll just stick with Transitional. I’d prefer to have links target to a new window anyway.

In any event…my next update will most likely be on Saturday when I put up the new theme. I’ve re-entered myself into the blog rotations so I’ll be around to comment and what not.

Later gators.
