Twitching over new toys

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

Sean and I took a trip up to Best Buy in Dover today because he found a decent deal on a monitor and wanted to look at it in person before he went ahead and purchased it. A quick $180 on a 20″ Widescreen, and we were then homeward bound. He’s got it setup but his computer is acting funny so he hasn’t been able to enjoy it yet. Either way he actually has a desk again thanks to the loss of a massive CRT and that’s just gravy.

As for me, my left eye has been twitching all freaking day long and the superstitious end of me knows that it either means a streak of luck is coming or something horrible is coming. An actual eye resource, and not some hippy tree-hugging website that claims to have the answer to everything notes that it’s based on fatigue/stress. It only started about an hour ago but my eye randomly focusing in and out isn’t helping me concentration, that’s for sure.

Keep fighting it…

For the past 12 hours, at least, I’ve been cleaning. I’m sure I could have accomplished it in half the time but that’s based on the fact that I kept getting side-tracked with other things. The bathroom took me about an hour, tile is a bitch to clean sometimes. I accomplished the kitchen, even having enough time while cleaning to throw some cookies in the oven for Sean. The living room is the cleanest I’ve personally ever seen it and now I’m working on my third load of laundry. Once I can get that into the dryer, I know for sure that I’m going right to sleep. My eyes keep freaking crossing on me.

Hoppers (yep, chose a name) wasn’t around tonight. I’m sure he was around the house but considering I can’t see what’s going on in the grass below – who knows. I just know he wasn’t on the porch to keep me company tonight during quick smoke breaks.

Sean and I attempted to head into a local mattress store tonight. We were on our way to the super market and wound up going across the street to this place first, not even sure if I remember the name but it also isn’t a chain so that may explain it. They’re running a deal right now where beds start in the $400 range, I’d say that’s a fairly decent price for a temporary bed. It’ll at least get us up off the floor and we can throw out the foam pads we’ve been sleeping on for the last few months. My back is finished, my hip is now acting up and I know he isn’t very comfortable either. Unfortunately, they were closed so we couldn’t look around to see what was on sale but I’m sure we’ll make a run over there tomorrow.

The reason for our trip to the supermarket was due to the fact that some bone head in the complex decided that they didn’t have any propane to BBQ and switched the tanks out on us. The gage is also missing a piece of glass so I want to assume they just unscrewed the whole thing, switched it out, then went from there. Sean noted that the cover for the BBQ never really stayed on properly and at first I was convinced that it was only the wind. Now I’m starting to think that someone has purposely been taking it off just to switch out the tank. I have no idea what actually happened but I can say that it’s not the tank we brought home a few weeks ago and we know neither one of us changed it out for an empty one.

I’m trying very hard to stay awake right now, I’m not sure how much longer I have left until I officially crash though. I do have to clean off my desk because it looks like hell. Then I have to head back into the kitchen and finish a few small things up. I just wish the damn dryer would work faster!

Hopping around

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

While I still don’t feel as though I accomplished anything today, I did manage to get through everything on my to do list – so I guess that counts for something. There’s still a long list of things to get done before Saturday but a deadline is a deadline and I like to meet and/or exceed them as much as possible. It keeps me on my toes, and typically the client is happy as well.

FedEX finally updated their tracking system and I’ve learned that my monitor is coming out of Exton, PA. I know that this is only about 2 hours away from me so I’ll be happy to see it when I wake up in the morning. This, of course, depends on whether or not I can get myself back on track.

I know that you’re supposed to take antibiotics for exactly how many days your doctor prescribed but when the infection seems to have cleared up two days prior to the bottle being empty, do you really have to? I know, “Krissy, you’re being stupid!” but I just don’t like having to sleep things off, I need to be productive damn it!

Labor Day weekend is coming up and the locals are anticipating the return to normalcy the moment the weekend is over. Tourists will go back home, the boardwalk will be cleaner, and we don’t have to worry about the crazies that seem to only come out of the woodwork when the heat shows up. THANK GOD!

In other news, we have a new pet. I went outside tonight to find a chubby little Frog hanging out by the front door. Knowing that I’ve seen a few of them hopping around before, I left it alone and walked right past it. Sean tried to help it out by putting it back on the grass but the frog has very obviously refused and is now back on the porch keeping an eye on the door for us. Bella treated it as a new toy, but knowing full well that this one doesn’t squeak we pulled her away from it instantly. He hopped inside when Sean brought Bella in from her walk but he quickly pushed him back out the door. I’m not sure why but this one seems like a special little buddy and something tells me he’ll be around for a while. Guess I should name him, huh? Any recommendations? Maybe tomorrow I’ll snap a picture of him or something, I’m sure he’ll still be on the porch hiding in the corner.

A theory I have is the bug zapper, maybe he’s picked up on the fact that anything that’s killed on the zapper is usually kicked back out (depending on what size it is) and the reason it’s so fat is based on the fact that it’s just eating very well. Either way I’ll consider him my new buddy and move on from there.

It’s almost 4am, guess I should start getting ready for bed. Whether I actually fall asleep is a completely different story.

Lingering.

Monday, August 27th, 2007

It’s a little after 4:30 and I’m starting to wonder why I’m still awake. I’ve made the attempt at laying down and crashing for the night but there’s so much going on in my head that coming back to the office to figure it all out was just the only route to take. I wrote up my to-do list for the week, I’ve cleaned off my desk in anticipation for my new monitor, I even wound up heading into the kitchen and putting some dishes away just because they were in the sink and bothering the crap out of me.

On the top of my to-do list is accomplishing a September template, I may wind up just changing the color scheme of this one though. I actually like it too much to archive it so I’ll break my own ‘rules’ and leave it up for a while. When someone says “September” what colors pop out at you? And Di if you say “school bus yellow” I’ll head up to NY and smack you with a trout. I was thinking reds/oranges but that’s more of an October thing. I have no idea what the birthstone color is for September either, however I’m sure that can easily be found out through a quick Google search. I’m just too lazy to do it. Sapphire, that works out for me considering I was thinking blue anyway.

The meds are just kicking my ass, that’s really the only thing I can say that would explain the funk. Dreams are really messed up, my stomach is always bothering me because of whatever reaction the antibiotics are having on it, and to top that off I just don’t have the drive to do much of anything, even a well-written to-do list can’t keep me focused, usually that was the case.

I know I’m lacking creativity, on top of that I’m sure I just need a vacation because I haven’t really gone anywhere in quite some time. Sean and I have been unable to get down to the beach thanks to all of the Benny’s, and usually it’s the Ocean that sparks some kind of energy in me, and I’m not sure why either. I guess I’ll just have to wait until after Labor Day for things to get back to normal. It’s not like we could walk around on the beach anyway, his knee has been bothering him and my back isn’t doing to great at the moment either. I tried some more of that Freeze-It stuff, but it only works for like 10 minutes on me. I’ve also been in pain for years and even hefty muscle relaxers never did the trick…all I did was wind up sleeping too much.

It just sucks…I don’t know.

Sleep Sucks!

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

I’ve been taking antibiotics for a few days now, so it’s no surprise that I’ve been sleeping for more than 12 hours a night. This is something that I absolutely HATE considering I like doing 16 hours of work then 8 hours of sleep. So cutting my work-day down by four hours has me feeling as though I’m missing out on a lot of shit with ‘rush jobs’. I should be resting, I’m aware of this. I just can’t sit and do nothing because it drives me crazy to just lay down and let hours pass where absolutely nothing is being accomplished.

I woke up today to find out that there’s the chance of having company on Tuesday. So I instantly looked around the house thinking “rut roh” it’s like a bomb hit it so I went through my morning ‘boot’ so to speak (cig, coffee, fed Bella – etc) then started on the kitchen. I’ve got the main counters cleaned off, the cabinet under the sink is straightened up and then I’ll get cracking on the island later this evening after I get some work done. The bathroom needs to be cleaned up and I’ve been trying to straighten up our bedroom for the last few days but everytime I go in there, all I want to do is lay down and go to sleep. It sucks!

I don’t like that FedEX doesn’t update their systems on the weekend. I’m trying to find out where my monitor is but since the tracking number I have isn’t even registering in the system, and knowing they more than likely ship out of Ohio,¬† it’ll probably be here tomorrow afternoon. Which would be great, I just have to spend some time tonight reorganizing my desk to be able to handle the second monitor and not look so cluttered. I’m not sure how I’m going to put them on the desk but I do know that everything that I have shifted to the one corner. I’ve got my lamp, pens, pencils, markers, koosh balls, rubics cube,¬† and other toys to fiddle with when I’m thinking and my hands won’t stop freaking moving. There’s even a glass Buddah over here but I stole that from Sean because he had the larger one and at the time my desk was A LOT smaller.

Either way it’s a lot of shit to accomplish on top of working and there just aren’t enough hours in the day thanks to these stupid meds. My tooth still hurts so I have no idea if they’re even working. I can say that my headaches have gone away, or just aren’t as heavy as they were over the past week. So maybe SOMETHINGS working, doesn’t mean I want to be sleeping during it though!

Bouncy, Bouncy, Bouncy!

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

It’s been a productive half hour, to say the least. I took Bella on her walk since Sean’s knee is acting up, I started a load of laundry, got all of the garbage taken care of and now I’m putting my credit card away because I just purchased another monitor. For a while now I’ve been looking for the same monitor I own so when I went and setup a dual monitor configuration, things would be uniform. Up until this evening, I was unable to locate this monitor. I logged onto Microcenter tonight while I was looking for a monitor for Sean and happened to come across the exact same one that I currently own. I jumped for joy, pulled out the card, had Sean search for the proper adapter and then checked out. It should be here by Wednesday, at the absolute latest.

I’ll have Sean set it up and configure it for me and then I’ll go from there. He’s in the market for a new monitor because the one I gave him is on the verge of death. I offered him the ability to use the one I just purchased for a few weeks so that he can get some money paid off on his credit cards and then go from there but he’s standing ground and refusing. It’s annoying because you can barely see anything on that monitor and he has to sit right on top of it in order to read anything, which is HORRIBLE for someone’s eyes. I’m a good three feet away from my screen and even mine hurt after a while.

Anyhow, I figured the dual-configuration would help me out. I’m always bouncing from window to window and it’s to a point now where it’s driving me bananas. So, to hold off on getting that iMac for a few months, I’ll setup the dual monitors and use the right for design work (since it will more than likely be right in front of me) and then the left for IM’s, email and other stuff. I’m just going to have to do some cleaning up because my desk is overloaded with water bottles at the moment. I should probably invest in a few gallons because these tiny 10oz bottles are going rather quickly. I just bought a 24-pack yesterday and now I’ve only got about 10 left. That’s 140oz in a day, which is about a gallon. It just hurts to drink my crystal light, even sugar free drinks are evil to my broken molar at the moment. Plain water is just about all I can stand, it sucks but it’s warming up down here and staying hydrated is just the way to go I guess.

So close we can taste it…

After going through numerous companies, we’re now in the process of selecting the home and getting the loan. It’s been pretty hard on both of us. It’s had me questioning a few things about him and I’m sure the same questions have come up with him about me, but hopefully in the very near future we’ll be able to get things to work much smoother with our daily lives.

I keep thinking about how exactly I’m going decorate, no matter what kind of a home we wind up getting. It could be a shack in the woods or a trailer along the interstate but we’ll still make it home, no matter what the cost. Of course I’d consider a nice quiet area and at least 1800sqft but that’s coming from a person who’s lived in an apartment all her life and who wants to expand as far as she possibly can!

I’m not one of those people that’s into “themes” when it comes to how a house looks. I want something both comfortable and clean so as far as furniture is concerned I’ll naturally look into big and fluffy and then worry about the actual color choices. A big thing for me though? Clocks! I’m used to having a lot of them around because my family has always been time conscious. Sean and I just recently purchased one of the Howard Miller clocks for the bedroom. We do have an alarm clock in there, but there’s a big of elegance to the one we chose. And it’s also practical, considering the odd screen on the alarm clock we have. It’s an iPod dock as well but there’s something about the contrast of the LCD screen that makes it difficult to see the time on the clock itself. Great for charging the iPod and does actually wake you up, it just takes a while to set the alarm because of the inability to see the screen. Anyhow, the one we picked up is a pretty basic wall clock we decided that going with something too bulky in a new where near formal room would really look odd. So picking up a very simple one with a thick black frame made us very happy.

We know for sure that a King-sized bed is a must, so far we do already have sheets and a comforter considering our make-shift King but eventually we’ll be upgrading. Both of us are finding it harder and harder to get off the floor when we wake up in the morning. His knee has been acting up and my back is just about shot so we’re looking into something thicker than 5 inches of foam on the floor. I found one at Sleepy’s that’s very reasonably priced and depending how money comes in over the course of the next month. I think that’s just a purchase we’re going to have to make as soon as possible. As of right now our color scheme (in both rooms) is Gray, Black and White. I think we’ll pull some Pink into it but I’ll have to work that one in myself because he has absolutely no desire for a Pink room. It’s not like I’m painting the walls or anything. I’m talking throw pillows or something to break up the darkness of the room!

This all requires money though, guess I should get back to work heh.

Getting Late…

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

It’s a little after 1am and Sean has taken over my computer to fix a few things that, what’s looking to be, a horrible programmer setup for a site I worked on with Dick. So in order to shift the balance of the room completely, I’ve taken over Sean’s computer for a little while. It’s strange using a CRT again, I can’t believe that I used to use this damn monitor on such a regular basis, it’s HUGE in comparison to my LCD. It’s also slowly beginning to die, so now I understand why Sean typically sits on top of the thing while he’s working. It’s so damn dark, very hard to see anything going on in front of you. It’s also filthy but it’s his monitor now, he can clean it.

Once he finishes up with that task, I’m sure he’ll jump right back to this PC and get his own work done. I made him cookies tonight since there’s no real reason to pay someone you share finances with, you know? I could probably just turn around and play the Wii for a while since there’s really nothing I can do on this end anyway, there are so many windows open it’s like an instant headache. He knows exactly what he’s got going on in the clutter, someone who claims he hates it – yea right. There’s a difference between clutter and complete chaos, with how many tabs he’s got open in Firefox – he’s the latter – no question about it.

I’m done getting through all of my email, I do still have one more person to contact in regards to Hosting/Design stuff and I PROMISE I’ll get to her within the next couple of hours, depending on how long he’s working on that thing on my PC. I’m almost done with recoding the template for AGn Designs so I can at least get that up and running before the weekend. I kind of over-killed with too many widgets and WordPress add-ons so naturally I screwed myself in the launch time. I was looking at this past weekend but then I got click happy on a plugins site, and the rest is history.

I think I’ll go down my Do Follow list and see what fellow posters are up to.

The Daily Do

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

A little while ago, Sean and I went out to do some shopping. We headed over to Dollar Tree to look for baskets because no one can beat $1. We then stopped in EBGames and I picked up a new game for the Wii and I bought him a docking system for his xbox360 controller. Turns out, it was the wrong one so we wound up taking it back and exchanging it. Either way he’s happy. A quick trip to AC Moore to look for other odds and ends, then wondering around Walmart for a little bit so I can look in the vitamins section and now we’re home.

I’ve been poking around the natural health stuff for a while now. I’ve been taking supplements with my diet that are working out pretty well for me. My energy levels are through the roof these days, which is more than likely the reason behind my accomplishing so much in the past few days. I’m right on track with all of my monthly goals, I’m at the 50% mark for my financial goals which works out great for me considering it’s literally the half way point of the month. I like when things balance out really well and I think the MSM Supreme is doing the trick. It’s a dietary supplement but I’ve been using it for pain management considering how bad my back has been these days. It’s working out really well for me so I’m not complaining, and I’m also not spending a butt-load of money on pain killers that my addictive personality would pounce on. Another one I’m taking is Lithium Orotate, it helps my frequent migraines but based on research it also helps those with depression and bi-polar disorders. Asprin wasn’t helping me anymore, not even Aleve and I was popping at least 6 of those a day just to concentrate.

Anyhoo, I’m about a half hour behind on some work that needs to be completed by midnight. I need to get my booty in gear on that.

Lounging around…

Friday, August 10th, 2007

It’s Friday night and while most people are heading out, I’m doing everything I can to just stay in. Sean is already asleep but he has to be up at like 3:30am or something like that. There’s some server things going on with his job that he needs to be awake for. I think it’s converting thumbnails or something like that, I don’t know. He told me but again – I’ve been out of it so it hasn’t really stuck for me. I think he found a way to get Image Magik to work with converting .GIF thumbnails without making them a static/still image. So I assume he has to take care of the rest of the thumbnails his boss has uploaded. Who knows.

I plan on getting to bed soon but for now I’m just kind of surfing around the web. I came across a site that gives you the ability to receive either an SMS or email alert about freebies being given away in your area. I thought it was pretty interesting. They’re called FreeAlert and it’s not just US based, it’s supposedly worldwide. I don’t have text messaging for my phone, I find it to be a completely useless feature. It’s cheaper to have a two minute conversation than it is to send the 20+IM’s to get your thoughts out – you know? I considered signing up for the email portion of it but have to look into it a little bit further.

The site itself is charity based, the items you receive can be redistributed to the disabled, orphans, widows, refugees or other needy people in your community. Around here there aren’t many needy people so I doubt I could be of much help to anyone but I’m sure those living in larger cities can find some kind of value through FreeAlert, who knows.

Home Woe’s

Friday, August 10th, 2007

The strange thing about being on a regular schedule is I’m not really used to all of the daily noises around me. The chirping birds are screwing with my concentration, the TV is blaring in the background with what I consider to be the stupidest show on television and Bella is even more insistent about being right under my legs than normal.

Princess doesn’t seem to be acting right, she’s limping a bit more than usual and is kind of hanging out under the dining room table instead of sleeping in her own bed. I’m sure she’s upset over the fact that she’s no longer allowed on the couch but I don’t think that has anything to do with her limping either.

It’s been a pretty fruitful day, I’m working on the $150 mark with paid-posting so that’s covered. A few clients paid me as well so it’s nice to see a few hundred sitting in Paypal at the moment. Thankfully it’s mine to spend because all other bills have already been budgeted out. I’m just going to shoot it into savings though, we really do need to buy a new bed sometime in the next month (at the absolute latest) my back has come close to going out on me completely and I’m sure sleeping on three inches of foam that’s directly on the floor isn’t helping me very much either.

Sean and I are currently looking around Remax and Centry21 for a house. I don’t know how it happened but we’ve kind of settled on Ohio. I’m not too keen on being that far away from New York but he assured me that I’d probably like it there. His brother lives in the North Lima area, so I think we’re looking around there. I found a huge 4 bedroom 4050sqft for like $55,000 which is also on 3 acres of land, something seems fishy about it but figure if I’m looking to get a loan in the $175,000 range – I’m sure we could knock down the old house and just build another one on the property.

We’ve been looking into manufactured homes and I found one that looks fairly traditional but I also know that there’s a solid company backing it. We’re looking into Palm Harbor, and I found a model named Katherine. It’s 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and about 2,368sqft. I know that’s a lot smaller than the house that’s on the property but you’re factoring in that only two people and a 15 pound dog are going to live there and I’d prefer to live in something where all of the pipes are new and in the future when adding an addition to the house, there’s the ability to cut into a wall without worrying about the entire foundation coming down on that side – you know? The house that’s on the property now is about 120 years old, you can’t really upgrade that style of a home without running into some problems. I figure knocking it down and starting fresh would be more than fair.

The Local’s Suck!

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

Sean and I went up to Midway last night. We’ve been itching to get to a casino ever since we left Atlantic City back in April. We probably should have just taken the free rooms available up in Harrah’s and completely avoided this place. I don’t know what it is about local casinos but they all seem to really suck. I know that Alantic City has a decent pay out considering how much money I’ve made there. I refuse to go to ones on Indian reservations because you never win anything there, I don’t care who you are – the pay out in a place like Mohegan Sun up in Connecticut is not going to be anywhere near what a typical payout is in Atlantic City. On average you hear machines going off with $3,000+ coming your way, this is the place to be.

With how messed up our schedule is at the moment, we didn’t leave the house until about 2am but note that we’d been up for about 8 hours at that point. After a 45 minute drive we arrived to find a really empty parking lot and what looked to be a little shack in the middle of no where. It’s only really lit up on the one side so you don’t see much going on behind it. It was no where near as large as the casinos I’m used to going to. The commercials tell me that you win more frequently and to a point this is true, I managed to make $20 last for a very long time. I just don’t consider breaking even to be a reasonable pay out – you know?

I’ve been rummaging around the house trying to locate my total rewards card so I can log into my Harrah’s account and find out what I have available. I think we’re going to take a trip up there after his birthday and sometime before mine so that we can have some kind of a vacation. I know he has four days free, I’m sure I have the same. A week with a free room? I’ll take it.

Still in pain, Still needing a better bed…

Monday, August 6th, 2007

I’m still in quite a bit of pain from playing the Wii for as long as I did last night. My shoulder is starting to unlock but my back is completely out of whack, part of me thinks the horrible sleeping conditions play a big role in it.

Sean and I, for the last few months now, have told eachother time and time again that we have to put enough money aside to purchase a new bed ASAP. Unfortunately neither one of us has followed up on this because of easily distracted we are when shiny technology makes it’s way in front of our eyes. I’m sure if we didn’t buy the Wii and I didn’t make a few purchases here and there for the DS then we’d have more than enough to at least upgrade the bed, let alone buy a complete set. When I say upgrade, I mean purchase two box springs so we’re at least off the floor with the mattresses. At the same time, however, the one’s we’re on aren’t really meant for long-term use. They came with a pull out bed but it’s two twin mattresses and combined it’s the king that we needed in order to be comfortable at night.

No, it’s not a fat thing either. It’s the fact that both of us spread out while we’re asleep and throw in a dog who likes to spread out just as much as we do, naturally there were going to be some problems with the full-size bed we were recently sleeping on. My back did improve for a while but now it’s just back to it’s horrible ‘ol self again.

We were in Sears a few weeks ago and I almost pulled out the Amex on a $1600 Seely Pillow top Posturepedic that was 50% off. The second both of us even sat down on this bed, our backs felt so much better. Sean is easy to please, he just wants something that doesn’t bother his back. And while I completely adore sleeping on a softer mattress, my back personally prefers a firm one. I think just having one that isn’t 3 inches thick (like we’re on now) would be an instant improvement either way, honestly.

Ouch, Ouch, Ouch!

Sunday, August 5th, 2007

Okay, so the Wii showed up yesterday – a few days earlier than originally anticipated. After it was booted up and proved to be working properly we then started playing the mini WiiSports games that came with it. Five hours of bowling, baseball and boxing later – we decided to head over to EBGames and pick up the WiiPlay game pack. It comes with like 10 mini-games for $50 but there was also an extra controller in the box as well. The Wii only comes with one standard controller by default.

On our way home we stopped off at Blockbuster because Sean had a Free Game Rental that he’d printed out before we left. And something I kept seeing all over EGM was Rayman Raving Rabbids and knowing full well that anyone else I’ve spoken to knew nothing about it, even though they seem to be DS game collectors, I picked it up instead of MarioKart 8. Knowing that he’s got another one coming in on Monday, we can always pick up MarioKart later.

Rayman is a series of mini-games that all have to be unlocked as you go along, which is typically like any Nintendo based game when you think about it. Then again, I’m basing this on Brain Age, Super Mario Brothers and Sonic Rush. But even the mini-games that came with WiiPlay had to be unlocked as well.¬† You start off with like four or five of the games, a few of which confused the hell out of us until we read further into them. Ammo for the entire game isn’t a gun, it’s plungers. And based on the amount of plungers one goes through in a single game, you wonder if this were real life, how many Home Depots would have to be called in to sponsor? heh.

The first one you land on is dance related. Knowing full well that my back was starting to crap out on me thanks to 9 straight rounds of boxing earlier, I decided to sit this one out. The key of the game is as the rabbits touch the little bases you have to shoot them off with either the Wiimote or the Nunchuk. You’re basically dancing along to the music and after a little while it just got boring so we left that stage and wound up in one named “How far can Bessie fly” or something like that. There’s a cow on a leash that you have to fling around and then throw her as far as you possibly can. You’re supposed to hit like 60 but Sean tried his hardest and couldn’t even get out of the ring. I managed to do it (fucking up my rotater cup in the process) but she flew about 200 something. I guess this would be great information to know about myself if I ever actually wanted to chuck a cow 200 yards?

The game itself is a little strange and quite morbid to some degree but at least you aren’t shooting guns, you’re just shooting off plungers. To me it kind of seems like those NERF suction arrows that kids still play with. Unless you have the stamina to go crazy with a tiny little controller, I’m not sure I’d recommend the game. There are sections of the game that are completely stupid and worth the laugh and play time. It’s just hard when you’re so used to single controllers to get around to using two of them.

I love my DS, for the most part it reminds me of my original Nintendo controller way back in the day. I like simple controllers which is why I have so much trouble with the XBox360 controllers. Sean tried to teach me how to play Halo, there’s too many extra buttons that you have to control just to fire at someone so that’s truly just a waste for me in the long run.

Either way I enjoyed myself and knowing I don’t have any work to get done today I figure I’ll wait until my back unlocks and then maybe play some duck hunt or something for a while. I’m in a lot of pain today because of all the moving around yesterday. It’s not that I’m not used to the activity so take that theory and shove it up your ass. It’s the fact that I’m not typically twisting my arms around as fast as humanly possible just to throw a cow and I sure as hell don’t bowl for 6 hours at a time either. Hopefully my arms will get used to it though.

I just signed up for a Nintendo.com account so I can get my games and consoles registered. Supposedly when you register a game it unlocks something but I think that would only work out on the Wii, so I’m going to punch my numbers in and see what happens.

Off to get something to eat, I’ve been hungry since I went to bed but figured I’d just eat after I woke up.

There’s NOTHING on!

There’s literally nothing on TV at the moment, not like that’s much of a change from any other night. I do have a lot of work to do but I’m having trouble concentrating because of the fact that I have no background noise at the moment.

I’m waiting on Sean to get back here. He left about a half hour ago to pick up dinner but I want to assume that the traffic downtown is horrible considering the 90+ temperatures we were dealing with today. The beaches must have been packed solid. He’s going to walk in bitching about all of the Benny’s and then eventually calm down, it’s a typical thing. I don’t like sending him out in traffic like this but it’s also summer in a tourist town, that’s bound to happen.

I guess I should get myself back to work. I don’t know how I’m going to manage accomplishing three templates by midnight considering it’s only 4 hours away but maybe I’ll get lucky enough and have a jolt of energy. Who knows.

Working leads to vacations – right?

I’ve been keeping myself busy on a new project with Dick, and I have to say it’s coming along pretty nicely on my end. I just need to stop second guessing myself in photo shop and start coding up everything for the base site and then converting it all for the WordPress end of it. It’s going to be an on-going project for me, then again anything with Dick seems to be an on going project. He’s just great – heh.

So, Sean and I are planning an upcoming vacation which is hard considering we’ve been watching Family Guy and we keep thinking of weird places TV shows have been based in or talk about. He’s already spoken about going to all of the Springfield’s in America, and we’re going to be looking for a Sven if St. Olaf Minnesota actually exists. I’d love to go to Seattle but I may use a couple of vouchers I’ve got and invest in a few Disney World Tickets because I’ve been itching to get down to Disney for many years now. I just don’t know where we should go in upcoming weeks. We were considering a few nights up in Atlantic City because each of us have free nights pending that we could cash in on. I figured we can do two nights at one hotel and two at another – it’s just a matter of money though. Who knows.

I’m sure we’ll figure things out.
