Busy, Busy, Busy day.

Friday, May 4th, 2007

I have to say that I kicked some major ass today. I completed projects for about three clients and I’m in the process of finishing up a fourth. I like when things go well like this, I really do. I’m set as far as A.C. goes so I’m not too concerned there. I also know that with a constant flow of work coming in, I’ll be a lot better off. I’ve been up since 8am and while I’m tired, I know there’s still a lot of work for me to get done so I need to finish that before my head hits the pillow tonight.

Unfortunately I fell asleep so early last night that I didn’t get the chance to bring Bella for her nightly walk. I’m going to make it up to her, however. She’s been eating very well today and before Baby and I go to bed, we’re probably going to do about two miles and she can crap wherever she pleases.

Tomorrow is going to be another busy day for me. While I didn’t get a chance to clean out the fridge this week, I did clean up the kitchen. Tomorrow I’m stripping everything out of the fridge and getting rid of all the crap in there. There’s food in there that can be thrown out. I know there’s a bottle of soda in there that probably went flat a few weeks ago. There’s nothing MOLDY in there because we’re all good on throwing out bad food. It’s just the spring and the fridge, of all places, really deserves to have a good scrub down every month just because of all the bacteria that can form in there. The same goes for the fridge in the office because I don’t know if Baby has EVER cleaned it out and since I’m keeping my water and yogurt in there – it has to be done. I may even drag it outside and power-wash it with the hose…heh.

Date Night in O.C.

Friday, May 4th, 2007

Before I went to sleep the other night, baby and I had a talk about how we don’t spend too much time together. Yesterday I woke up to him saying “Take a shower, we’re going out!”. After getting a few things done around the house, we took a drive down to Ocean City, MD. We had dinner, walked on the boardwalk and just enjoyed our time down there.

I’m not sure how many days it lasts, typically, but we walked into the Springfest. Usually when we go down to OC we don’t have to pay to park, but yesterday was different. Paid $5 and then spent about 4 hours walking on the boardwalk. It’s a five mile stretch but we only did about 2 miles because we kept stopping by all of the little shops there. I kicked his ass in skiball, no matter what he wants to claim. I also did fairly well on a few of their slot machines. It sucks that it was only tokens being shot out of it instead of real money. I’m just itching to get myself back to a real slot machine because both he and I were on FIRE picking up all of those tokens, heh.

I actually kind of like it down in Ocean City, I know that a lot of things aren’t open year round but when things are open it’s nice to be around there. Their pizza is far better than anything you can find in Delaware and as far as ice cream is concerned, they’ve got fairly decent soft serve. I’m a carvel lover but Dumsers Dairyland isn’t that bad.

Yes, I broke my diet but I did walk off quite a bit of it. I had my yogurt and low-fat crackers this morning to try to justify it. I took a smaller portion than usual just so I didn’t feel so guilty. I’m also working on my green tea at the moment too. It’s a gorgeous day so I’ll be out taking a long walk in a little bit anyway.
After we got home last night I wound up going right to sleep. I’m not quite used to falling asleep before midnight, hell – I was knocked out by 11:15 in reality. It felt good to wake up at 8am though. Hopefully I can stay on this schedule which will make it easier to get work in order and what not.

Speaking of work, it’s a little after 9am now so I guess I should start my day.

Helpless…

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

I’m feeling a bit helpless at the moment (if you couldn’t tell by the title). Baby has a really bad ear infection that’s got him in a mood. I know he’s in a lot of pain but he’s not doing much to fix it. He’s had ear infections his entire life so this isn’t anything new to him. He has to tap on his ear to be able to even hear out of it and he’s done nothing to really medicate himself either. Antibiotics are a must when you have an infection, there’s also a pain killer or two in the house that does a lot more than regular aspirin does but he doesn’t seem to be taking anything. He says he has, but I haven’t seen him do it so I really don’t know.

Right now he’s across the hall sleeping. Bella’s been in the room with him sleeping by his feet and I’m sure that’s going to bother him at some point considering how warm it is in the house. He’s been sleeping on the floor because the bed has really been messing up his back – he hasn’t left the bed in HOURS though. I may wind up turning in early tonight just so I can be up tomorrow in case he needs anything.

I just wish that there was something I could do. You can’t get a stubborn man to go to the hospital if he absolutely refuses. No matter how convincing I can be with him, nothing seems to work. I’m kind of stuck here and don’t know what to do.

Grocery Shopping and what not…

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

I did really well at the super market tonight. I thought it was going to be weird reading all of the labels for carbohydrates and cholesterol but once I got around that nervous feeling, I picked up some really tasty things. I’m loaded up with yogurt, crystal light (of course) and chicken breast that I’ll probably have baby grill up for me sometime over the course of the next few days so I have something to throw into my salads. I also went a little nuts on fruit but there’s really nothing wrong there. Apples, Peaches, Strawberries, Watermelon, Bananas, nothing in that list could really do any harm. So I’m happy about that.

This is getting easier and easier every day. I really will reach my goal, I can feel it!

A few people have asked me what “get thin quick” scheme I was doing because I was talking about so many different programs I was interested in trying. My only response is “none of them”. Any one will tell you that starving yourself doesn’t work. If you eat a few times a day with a serious portion control hanging over your head, walk a few miles a day, and keep yourself active in general – you’re going to lose weight.

Baby and I have been walking a lot more, I’ve been eating better and in on Memorial Day Weekend, the private clubhouse for this complex will be open. They’ll not only have a pool but they’ve got a weight room as well. Considering the bulk of the people living in this community are more active during the day (most of them are…well…old) I’m sure that they’ll be no one in there at night to watch me work out. This is something I’ve felt embarrassed about for a while now, actually. It’s the whole self-esteem issue of growing up as “the fat girl” that plays a huge roll in this. There’s no room in the house for a treadmill so I’m going to have to suck it up and head down there. I’m sure once I’ve dropped a few more pounds I’ll be willing to do it during the day but for now, I’ll stick to my walk around the complex with Bella during the day and my faster pace walk on the boardwalk at night.

I tend to do better on the boardwalk than I do in the complex. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore get me into a pretty determined mindset to push myself to my limits and it works out quite well. I’ve lost approximately 12lbs in two weeks and I couldn’t ask for anything more.

Lasik Surgery

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

Over the course of the last few years, my father’s eye sight has dramatically decreased. He claims it’s just old age, but for the past two years he’s had to upgrade his prescription quite a few times. He’s not going blind, he just can’t seem to focus his eyes. First he was far sighted, now he can’t see that either. I’ve recommended, a few times actually, that he look into Lasik but unfortunately his insurance doesn’t cover it. I’ve heard that the procedure works very well, but it’s not that cheap either. If it’s worth it, in the end, however – I think he should go for it. But hey…that’s just my take on it.

Baby has eye problems as well. While I think he’s hansom with or without his glasses, I think that looking towards a life without them, considering I’m sure his eye problems are 100% fixable with this surgery, he should consider looking into it. He doesn’t hate his glasses, I know this. But by the end of the day he can’t wait to get them off his face so his head can hit the pillow and he can drift off into a dream world.

After doing some research I found that USAEyes.org concluded that, after Lasik, 90% of patients achieved 20/40 vision or better ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú good enough to drive without glasses ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú and 65% achieved 20/20 vision, after a review of US Food and Drug Administration clinical trials, peer-reviewed data, and individual patient outcomes.

If you can improve your vision by that much, why aren’t more people getting it done?

Continued Productivity

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

I didn’t get everything done that I would have hoped today. Unfortunately I wound up sleeping a little later than anticipated. I made it a point to set the alarm before I went to bed but the tricky thing to my iPod alarm clock is that once you set the time, you also have to set the alarm to iPod mode or it won’t go on. I was so tired when I went to sleep last night that I forgot to do it so I didn’t get up until after 3. That’s 4 hours later than I would have hoped for.

I didn’t get around to cleaning out the fridge yet, I’ll work on it later on. I did get started on the counters though. Baby and I were starving so I wound up cooking something quick for lunch and now we’re both in the office getting some work done with the TV on in the background.

I have to get some emails sent out.

Exhausted

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

I’ve accomplished about 90% of everything I set out to do today. I’m done with the template for Ranee, I’m done with the PHP to HTML convert. I’m almost done with the WordPress upgrades and I’m waiting patiently on an email. However, I’m unsure if I’ll be getting it tonight. It’s after 3am and it was my intension to only be up until 2am. Baby is up and getting his work done, our schedules really don’t mesh well together at all. I just hope that he gets to bed soon because I know he’s got his ear infection so naturally he’s not feeling well. Yea, I know he slept all day, but I also know that he needs the rest considering he’s got ooze coming out of his ear.

I’m unsure of what I’ll be doing tomorrow, after all the work is completed. I’m sure we’re going to the market to get some shopping done. There’s literally no food in the house. I think all that remains is a can of soup and I’m the only one who’d actually eat that lol. I’m itching for some kind of meat though. I think I’m going to pick up some turkey burgers or something tomorrow. I’m low on Special K bars and Crystal Light as well.

I would get myself a pitcher so I can use that instead of the “To-Go” packs and constantly having to refill bottles. The fridge is a bit small though. I think I may actually do a clean-out tomorrow – something spilled in there that hasn’t been touched, now there’s a solid block of sticky stuff sitting on the bottom underneath the drawers. I’m used to the drawers that slide out for convenience (then again I’m also used to a 20 year old fridge with metal racks) so this plastic shit is agitating to me…lol.

I also need to clean the kitchen. Okay, so I do know what I’m doing tomorrow. Cleaning the kitchen top to bottom. I haven’t swept in over a week and I know the floor needs to be washed as well considering it’s such a high traffic area. Guess I should get myself to bed so I can start on it early, right?

Thunderbird is officially closed now so emails won’t be responded to as quickly as they were today. I’ll get everything tomorrow. Anything business based goes to krissy@agn-solutions.net, everything else goes to girl@krissy.nu.

Night all!

Tonight’s Breakdown

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

I have a whole list of things that I need to get done before my head hits the pillow tonight. I’m four hours away from doing my 24 hour run and while blogging has cut down because of the fact that the Tuesday prize has already been given away – I’m still working on everything I possibly can to get everything in order. I admit that I’ve been slacking on getting the template for Ranee coded, but I can say I’ll have that done tonight, I’m going to start coding everything over to WordPress as soon as I’m done posting.

I won a bid on GAF a few moments ago so that’s another thing I’m going to have to get started on afterwards. I’m converting a site over from PHP to HTML which to me makes no sense but it’s easier for the client to edit everything so that’s the route to take. I’m waiting on a write-up from another client and then hopefully after all has been said and done, I can get myself to sleep by midnight – 2am at the absolute latest.

Baby fell asleep a little while ago, he’s battling an ear infection at the moment so he’s hasn’t been in the most chipper of moods. This afternoon I took a break after I last posted to do some things around the house. I wound up taking a walk to the mailbox with Bella so she could get out and enjoy the sunlight.

It’s beautiful outside during the day here. There’s so many birds chirping and flowers blooming that sitting inside is starting to get to me. The problem is that Baby can only really concentrate at night when he’s working so it’s hard to get on a balanced schedule for him, he just winds up sleeping during the day. I’d like to be outside more during the day, it just sucks doing it alone when you want to spend time with him, you know? Maybe by the time things take off with him we’ll be able to sync up again. Something to look forward to.

Okay, so I’m going to get my ass in gear on everything I have to do. This way I can do my two-miles before I go to sleep. Bella seems to enjoy it, she marks her territory every 10 feet it seems, it’s kind of funny heh.

Camping

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

PPP Baby likes the idea of traveling, as do I. The one thing I’m not too keen on is the woods. While I do love animals, I don’t like ones that can skunk you down or rip you up. I also don’t like the idea of bugs bigger than my face. But, he likes to camp and has gone to Pennsylvania a few times to do it. He runs down his list of supplies and is so proud of his leica binoculars it’s kind of funny.

I had no idea what he was talking about but when I came across Eagle Optics and looked them up, it kind of made sense. It’s easy to be proud of a pair of binoculars when you spent over $1,000 on them. That’s kind of pricey for me, I’m used to the Fisher Price ones I was using until recently (Yea, those puppies last!). I did find a few cheaper pairs in the $30 range on this site, that’s more of my cup of tea. :mm tea:

Eagle Optics is a good source for buying things like this because they have low prices, great customer service, an excellent selection and free financing on orders over $200. So if you’re dropping over $1,000 on a pair or two of binoculars, this is the place to go.

So looking through here for a while, I may wind up going with a simple pair from Audubon. They seem to be pretty decent and they’ve got one that’s even waterproof. Oh joy, I can watch the sharks appear closer than they really are…lol

Paintball = FUN!

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

Growing up on Long Island you didn’t hear much about paint ball, I don’t even think there was a place to go to in order to participate. Once I got down here, I noticed an over abundance of shops with paintball supplies, I found myself very interested in this.

Tippmann X7 We wondered into one of the stores one day and were looking around the cases and I found the TippmanX7 and fell in love, almost instantly. This gorgeous piece of paintball markers is about $430 but there are other places where I can find it for cheaper, that’s the beauty of the internet.

Behind this store was a field covered in more paint than I’d ever seen. They run an active paint ball war zone type of deal that’s open to the public and used rather frequently for those traveling down here in the summer. I don’t quite understand how they can run around in the heavy gear during the summer but more power to them.

We tried it out and I had more fun than I thought I would. I beaned him in the leg a few times. He beaned me back though, thankfully it hit the safety gear. Tuck and roll! It was a lot of fun though, I can’t wait to do it again. I’ve already told him that we’re going to have to setup our own war zone in the backyard and make all the neighbors get involved too…heh.

Undecided.

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

We decided to hold off until about 6:30 before we ordered anything. The diner wasn’t an option that was going to benefit either one of us. The food is too greasy for me and Baby really didn’t want a burger from them considering how horrible the taste. We’re going to wait until this little mom and pop shop opens up and then call in an order from there. I figured I’d just get myself some breakfast. They’ve got some pretty decent omlets but I know there’s a whole muffin case so maybe I’ll load up on some whole-grains today instead of eggs. I haven’t quite decided yet.

I’m still getting some work done here and there on other things. I’m trying very hard to get Bella to eat but she just refuses to do it lately and I really wish I understood why. She’s only eating about once a day and at this point it’s been over 24 hours since she last ate anything. I really need to get her to the vet, that’s just more money going out than I’d like. I need to remind myself to call the groomer today too. I think a lot of her discomfort is based on the fact that her hair is starting to get a little matted and it’s bothering her. I want to assume that once I get that fixed, then everything else will slowly follow.

Back to work I go…

I Hungie.

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

I can already tell you that sticking to my diet has been a bit difficult. While I haven’t been loading up on junk food, I haven’t really had any food either. When we went to the deli today I got myself corned beef on rye, which is perfectly fine in moderation. Since then, however, I haven’t eaten in about 14 hours. I just popped a Special K bar to put something in my stomach but Baby and I are currently looking for anything that’s open just so we can get some dinner.

We haven’t done any grocery shopping so it’s not like we can find anything in-house that would fulfill our hunger pains at the moment. The only option is looking for something that’s 24 hours, or just open later than 2am. Unfortunately, the only option is the diner and their food is so greasy you gain 10lbs just by touching the food, let alone eating it. The oil on some of their dishes is so thick that it soaks right into your skin and no amount of soap can get it out – it sucks.

I think we may wind up just going to the supermarket and picking up something to cook, that’s really the only option at the moment. :: sigh ::

Productive Day … me thinks.

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

I didn’t get to sleep until about 4:30 this afternoon. We were actually pretty busy today. We hung around the house for a while and got some things done outside. He pulled out the weed wacker to do the trim around the house because the landscapers for the community only do what they can get to. Instead of paying some stupid fee each month it’s just easier to do every thing yourself. The hose was tangled so we worked on that, there were two and both of them had gaping holes in them so it’s time to get a new one.

We showered/changed and then headed over to the deli up the block and got ourselves lunch. First we stopped by the groomer so I could ask a few questions but unfortunately they were closed so I think I’ll just have to call tomorrow. I forgot that a lot of places aren’t open on Monday’s. No biggie.

After we ate we were home for a little while and then Baby decided to go to bed, I wasn’t tired enough to follow. I wound up going outside to read and then I realized if I don’t plant something soon, there won’t be any flowers for the season. I know I’m already a bit late but I really don’t care, worse case scenario – if nothing pops up – I’ll just go get some pre-bloomed ones and plant them myself.

Around 4:30 it all caught up with me and I was knocked out. Now it’s a little after 12 and I’m most likely going to be up all night. There’s a big Tuesday thing going on over at PPP so I think I’m going to stick around for that. I think there’s going to be?Ǭ† A LOT of blog posts today because I’m probably going to be up for 24 hours again … heh.

In any event, I’m gonna get my ass in gear. Finish a few templates, get some things off my computer and then figure out what I’m going to do from there. I really, really need to turn the AC on because it’s so warm in here that I’m afraid I’m going to fall back asleep and that would totally screw me up.

Travel Plans: Florida!

Monday, April 30th, 2007

PPPBaby and I spend a lot of time talking about what we’d like to do in the future. One of our major goals is to travel to all 50 states (by Winnebago) and see all of the little mom and pop places that make America what it is. We don’t care about eating at any major food chains, we want little hole in the wall places that are popular for unique reasons. What we’ve both agreed upon, however, is that if we do go to any highly populated area that’s very well known it’s most likely going to be Orlando because of their theme parks and Disney World because it’s … well … the happiest place on earth.

I know a few people who live in Florida and while it’s a pretty bad state to live in if you don’t like constant storms, it’s worth it’s weight in gold for the beautiful beaches and even more beautiful people. I’ve considered owning an Orlando Vacation Home, I’ve also considered a Villa in Disney because I pay pretty close attention to Disney news and there’s quite a bit going on down there at the moment.

I’m not sure if those goals will ever be met. Things like this usually require a lot of money that I just don’t have right now. If I can continue to bring in a solid $2500 a month than maybe I’ll be able to reach these goals sooner than anticipated, for now it’s just a dream that I hope to have fulfilled one day… nothing wrong with that.

Not sleepy … this sucks!

Monday, April 30th, 2007

I’m having trouble sleeping, if you haven’t already noticed.

We took Bella for a nice long walk, did our two miles so we feel better now. All garbage was put out on the curb, I fed Bella and now I’m just sitting here listening to the TV in the background while I’m surfing the ‘net. I’m tired but not quite tired enough to actually get any sleep. I just turned the air conditioner off because it was starting to get chilly in here. That was probably a pretty dumb idea though. It’s supposed to get up to about 85?Ǭ? today so I think I’m going to wind up switching it back on before I go to bed. I know that the dogs were kind of cold so that’s why I turned it off. Princess is a little bloated because she over-ate today and Bella has a few…err…bald patches…so she was kind of chilly as well.

Maybe I’ll do some more surfing and then go force myself to sleep. It SHOULD work. Worse case scenario I get some work done that I was going to put off until this afternoon considering it would be too warm to really be outside. If I can get it done now, however, it’ll give me more time to plant some seeds.

Lot’s to do, no time to do it.

Monday, April 30th, 2007

PPPSince it’s spring, naturally I’ve been doing a lot of cleaning. The living room is clean, kitchen is cleaning, dining room is clean, bathroom is clean and the bedroom is clean, but slightly in a bit of chaos while I’m still figuring out where to place everything. The only thing I haven’t done yet is take care of everything outside of the house. There’s still some weeds to be pulled, seeds to be planted (now that it’s warming up outside) and I desperately need to pressure wash the deck and the porch because of the last few years of crud that’s gone untouched since Baby moved into this house. This house wasn’t here for that long before they moved in, it actually was only built a few months before they purchased it. That’s the beauty of new communities and manufactured homes.

I love this house, it’s just so close to the beach that it’s not easy to keep clean. We track sand in whenever we walk on the boardwalk and it’s the typical salty air that you would expect considering it’s so close to the Atlantic Ocean so it’s only natural to want to go outside to pressure wash the exterior, there’s also a few large trees around so the sap coming off them doesn’t help either.

Since the trip to Atlantic City is coming up, I’m also going to have to pressure wash the cars as well. Baby’s car is kind of grimy because I don’t think he’s washed it since he bought it and there’s a lot of sand and random garbage beginning to pile up in there. I think Kay is taking her car to the car wash up the street because it’s new so it needs to be waxed before the hot sun and salty air begin eating away at the paint.

So basically…there’s a lot to do and not much time to do it.
