I have until the 14th to get my taxes in order. I have to make it a point to fill out the W2-G form because of the gambling winnings. I printed the forms last night but I have basically no idea how to go about doing it. I figure I’ll call Dad after he gets home from work later so I can straighten everything out. I should have gotten it done this weekend but I didn’t have much of a choice considering I had all the packing to do.
I made about $6700 and I only really have to file the federal form since everything was won in New Jersey (Atlantic City). I just hope I’ll be able to get everything in on time. Baby is going on Friday to get his done, they’re a bit more complicated than mine considering he’s got “On the books” income from two places. Guess I should call Dad now, he should be home.
I used one of the online tax sites listed from the official federal taxes website for my taxes (first time doing them on my own) and it was pretty easy. It was pretty much like a set-up wizard, with questions to guide me through it and it’d put the proper numbers into the proper boxes based on the questions I answered.
