Alexa is sending out mixed signals at the moment and I have to say, I don’t like it very much. According to their site my rank went down (which is a good thing to those who don’t know much about Alexa). The badge on my site, however, tells me that nothings changed. I thought this was a fluke, I cleared my cache and then tried again. Nothing changed. I’m unhappy about this.
Google should change back to a PR5 sometime soon, possibly PR6 so I’m not overly concerned there. Technorati is steadily dropping in rank which is pretty good as well. Not too sure what I’m doing there but something tells me sometime in the next few days when I get around to finishing up return comments, those numbers will change as well.
How can things be so simple yet so complicated at the same time? I just don’t get it!
How can they be simple and yet complicated? Actually I didn’t know they were ever simple. Alexa, PR, Technorati – it’s almost too much to keep track of, let alone stay ahead of it all!
Hmmm, mine went down too (under 100,000, yay!) and my badge is correct. You could always email them, I had to do that when my thumbnail wasn’t updating.
ok just because I wanted to see mine I checked the alexa.com and then my badge and then my little thing on the toolbar. Low and behold the site and my badge say a lower number than the toolbar does. Do these three things never match for godsake?
Oh wait I just checked yours and they all say the same thing. Maybe it’s just me.
But I don’t even know how to get my PR up. I mean I’ve rarely seen anyone with a PR above a 5 and I have no clue what to do. I said I’d work on that this next month, but if they are only going to update when they have a itch in their panties then why bother?
Wow–I have no idea what any of those things are xD Well, whatever it is, i hope you get it sorted out
Alexa is a fickle beast. I have dropped and climbed back 500,000 overnight. Who knows.
I know, there are so many things to keep track of. I think all of the ranking systems should get together & decide “the higher a score, the better”, because it’s just too confusing to keep track.
Well, I’d not be too concerned about alexa, after all it only reflects traffic from people who use their toolbar, not everybody do, and i always found their ranking quite rough.
