Kay is currently going through her second life-changing process and because of her menopause symptoms we’re all confused dealing with her hot/cold flashes. The AC was on for 10 minutes, then off for five minutes, then back on. At this rate I’m surprised the air conditioner hasn’t blown up because of it’s own personal confusion. I know, air conditioners don’t have brains/feelings but it works that way in my world.
Anyway, she can’t find anything to help her out so I surfed around the internet and came across Menopause A to Z and I have to say, it’s answering a lot of questions that she had. I wonder if I’m having sympathy pains at the moment, I’m getting rather warm myself – it could be the laptop though :: moves to the table :: … Okay now that I’m comfortable again, I can continue.
I spent a bit of time reading this article: What Causes Menopause Hot Flashes. This is obviously the one that’s effecting everyone at the moment so I figured it would be the best one to poke around in. What she was unaware of was that certain foods and drinks can trigger menopause hot flashes; hot coffee or other hot drinks, caffeine and alcohol, all play a roll. She drinks about a pot of coffee a day and probably about 2 liters of soda a day as well. Knowing that you can’t take a comfortable women out of her element – I think this is going to be a very difficult summer. Maybe I’ll buy her this book for her birthday… :hrm:
